Oh. Right! Faye had completely forgotten that someone had told her, earlier that day, that someone would come to…build something. Work on something. Really she did not listen to them carefully. All she cared about was whether or not her own work would be disturbed. Which, finally, brought her to the current mix up. However, the man’s words did rub on her the wrong way, making her scoff. “I’m not sure about you but while every other technology on Earth has either been replaced or removed altogether, books have been a constant throughout the centuries.” 

Holoport. Holo…what? Faye did not speak such alien language - no pun intended - but with a clueless facial expression did she nod anyway, pretending to know exactly what the handsome piece of man was talking about. She nodded with such vigor that she sent her black hair, set loose and falling all over her shoulders and back, to sway with the head movement. A strand fell over her face, so she blew it away, tucking it behind her ear then. “Science-y tech-y stuff is that way. Aisle 5S, just down the aisle should be computer-y stuff. Some books cannot be rented, though, they’re just for reading inside the library.”

“We aren’t going to freeze because we aren’t stupid enough either to simply sit there. We will go and follow the car or whatever they brought us here with.” Taking the compass into his hand he managed it onto the way he signed for himself before than turned back at the shorter. “I’m not in the mood to get my ass kicked by some random dude for letting his boyfriend die. Whining won’t solve anything come loverboy! This way.” With a decided move he grabbed his arm pulling him towards the way while using the map the other refused to prepare his own jacket.

Seline contacted Gao the minute she entered her shop and walked down to the basement, there was something off– her six sense was more alerted than ever and she couldn’t help it. She started making her bag, she needed to be ready before he came here. She’ll explain to him as best as she could and would head away. Insolitus was no longer a safe place, at least not for her. It has been days since she seen someone following her, and even though she has eliminated a few as she discovered them, but for some reason they kept coming, which could only mean it was not just one or two people following her.

His face winced in pain while his steps fastened without him recognizing while in his mind first blurrily but more and more alive a picture of another burning house came up. Thick grey smoke soiled the otherwise salmon coloured clear sky while the angry mob surrounded the ruins of the house searching after the witch’s most valuable treasure. 

It was simply disgusting and so the tall male almost decided to leave when suddenly there was a shout “Here! I found her!” echoing in the warm evening. The dark stranger’s steps froze and the next moment the man shouting fall forward breaking his neck with his own body weight. With screams of horror some tried to follow him but they all got to the same fate as some invisible power protected the girl leaning against the wall from the invaders. 

Panic spread quickly amongts the humans causing them to turn against their own mates while trying to find the witch’s curse but not realizing the male standing a bit aside with an emotionless face. His eyes only met with hers for a moment but his message was clearer than any word. run. run for your life. And so she did confused and probably also in panic but he was too deep in his anger and despise against this disgusting kind to realize such. 

“Sel!” He shouted after almost breaking in the door of the basement with quick collected looks searching for her in the room what, thankfully, wasn’t too dangerous yet. “Seline.” His voice cracked for the first time when he finally noticed her trembling cuddled against a wall in a corner trying to get away from probably something much worse in her head than the happenings in the reality. 

He quickly stepped next to her not caring to give her enough time or make sure if she was able to recognize him but taking her light weight easily up to his strong arms pressing her against himself. “It’s okay. I promise. It will be okay.” he whispered while getting her out of the burning building but not letting go of her even when they got under the free sky as he just started to realize that that night... That night he didn’t save her. He thought he did but she was probably hoping something completely different from him. He betrayed and disappointed her leaving her to her fate and now dared to wonder how she became what she was.
