planet worship & astrolatry ๐
astrolatryย is defined as the worship of stars and other celestial bodies as deities or by associating them with deities. deity, in this case, may refer to a god or goddess but can also refer to something with divine status, quality, or nature.
in my personal practice, i do not worship or work with anthropomorphic deities, or deities who are described as having human-like traits and behaviors. although the planets were named for greco-roman beings with these qualities, i do not see them [the planets] as such.
overall, i believe that the cosmos itself is divine, which includes the many celestial bodies encompassed inside of it. in my opinion, celestial bodies have their own innate energies that we can work with without thinking of them as what others would describe as gods/goddesses/deities, much like we view crystals, herbs, and other objects.ย
working with celestial bodies in this sense would be much like working with deities: you could make offerings, use their energy and aid in magical workings, dedicate a shrine or altar to them, or even pray to them.ย
while it may sound odd to pray to a planet or a star,ย prayerย is most simply defined as requesting help/assistance or expressing thanks to a deity or an object of worship, and in this case, the object of reverence in question would be the celestial body of your choosing.ย
offerings are generally given to express your gratitude for receiving assistance from celestial bodies.ย
offerings will vary depending on the celestial body you are working with, but here are a few ideas:ย
bury crystals in the soil
leave crystals on your altar or shrine
burn incense or a blend of herbs and spices
light a candle according to color or scentย
leave a mixture of herbs and spices on your altar/shrine
floral arrangements
food and beverages
trinkets or jewelryย
use representations of associated animals (could be a drawing, a feather, a tuft of fur, a whisker, etc. all safely and legally harvested, of course)
drawings or paintings of the celestial body
bonding with celestial bodies and utilizing celestial energy in magical workings:
use planetary hours or lunar cycles based on intent
perform magic on days of the week that are associated with the corresponding planet
spend time outside under the stars
study astronomy and astrology
draw down energy from celestial bodies based on intentย
i like to use the skymaps app on my smartphone to track down the celestial body in the sky for increased accuracyย
astral travel to other planets
try spiral meditation to ground, center, and channel celestial energy
use planetary symbols to represent a planet in a spell
draw the symbol in a pen or marker of corresponding color
carve the symbol in a candle or wax cube of corresponding color or scent
create a crystal grid in the shape of the symbolย
arrange herbs or flowers in the shape of the symbol
make a corresponding oil and draw the symbol on yourself or another mediumย
burn herbs or incense associated with a celestial body based on intent
use candles based on scent and color to correspond with your intent
use tarot or oracle cards that you associate with certain celestial bodies
create and use planetary or celestial oils to anoint objects
make crystal grids based on the current planetary alignment
make crystal elixirs using crystals associated with certain planets or other celestial bodies
wear a corresponding crystal on your person
wear a pendant made from corresponding herbs and spices on your person
paint your nails using corresponding colors
make an herbal sachet to use in the bath
use bath crayons to draw symbols and sigils in the bath/shower
drink tea made from corresponding herbs (that are safe to consume)
add herbs of corresponding intent to your food while cooking or baking
worshiping on the go:
carry corresponding crystals in your pocket
wear a corresponding crystal/herbal pendant
draw celestial sigils/planetary symbols on yourself with a crystal elixir, oil, or marker/pen of corresponding color
draw celestial sigils/planetary symbols on paper and carry them with you
wear planetary symbols as jewelryย
carry a corresponding herb or crystal sachet in your pocket, purse, or backpack
say a quick prayer to acknowledge a celestial body or thank them for their aidย
enchant every day items with planetary/celestial energy such as:
chapstick/lip gloss/lipstickย
other makeup productsย
shampoo/conditioner/soap
compact mirror
perfume/cologne/body spray
car/house keys
keychains
lanyard
name badge/ID for school or work
wristwatch
stationary (pens, highlighters, notebooks, planners, etc.)
lighter
gum/candy

How to manifest
Decide what you want.
Remind yourself you have it whenever you think about it.
If a contradicting thought crosses your mind, just correct it; โNo, actually I already have it.โ
Manifestation is only complicated if you decide it is.
Magical Girl Ask Game
Except it's themed around developing your magical practices! I see a lot of newer magical girls having similar questions, and I think asking yourself OTHER questions like the ones below can help! It's okay if you don't know the answer yet, that just means you still get to figure it out :)
Feel free to answer through a reblog, or asks that people send. Questions are below the cut!

Please tell me pop culture pagenism isn't dead I just got here T^T
Oh it's not dead, albeit it seems to fluctuate in how alive it is at any given time... What's important to keeping it alive is that folks keep it up and enjoy their practices. (Too commonly I see folks get bullied out of doing it...)
My blogs and practice have been dead for a myriad of reasons outside of my control, but as I regain control of my life, I'm going right back into my PCP practices. It's fun and it brings me joy.
Not Anon but I'm also new here when when I joined I honestly had a "damn did I came here at the wrong time??" Moment. But I'm still going strong
I getcha, honestly. I came into it expecting a more bustling scene, but only The Elder Scrolls seems to be going strong consistently... but I have a frickton of sources I play with as a whole, and while it's nice seeing Elder Scrolls go strong, I wish I wasn't all alone in other factors... but alas! I shall continue. I shall not be stopped.
Yeah how knows maybe one pop culture pagenism will become more big and bustling community. One can wish I suppose :3

I am really interested with working with mane six from MLP. Mainly Fluttershy because I've haven't been able to stop thinking about her all day.
Hello friend! Thoughts on creating your own PCP/PCW holidays? Could use some advice!
I've done this before actually, so I'm happy to share all that I can!
Basic step by step, which is probably obvious, but I'm gonna say it anyways!
Firstly, pick if it's gonna be for a certain entity or group of entities, or not. Then, pick the general theme of the event. Is this a harvest event, or is it a social event, or something else entirely?
Pick a day for it. Say you're going for a harvest holiday, based on specifically corn, so you'd pick a day in August or October if you live in the USA which is when corn is ready in that region. You can also pick a fluctuating date, such as "This holiday is celebrated when my corn is ready to be harvested" instead of specifically August 24th or whatever day.
Then you gotta pick what you're actually doing that day. Is your harvest holiday including a feast with that meal? Are you making offering to the Gods? What'cha doing?
Some possibilities for PCP/PCW holidays:
new years day
spell ritual days
planting/harvest days
summoning days for Gods or other spirits
revering the dead day
solstice/equinox celebrations
season change days
feast days
sacrifice rituals
prayer day for some end goal (ex. for a good year)
silly goofy haha day
social holiday
offering days
and more!
I also want to note that adding your own rituals/celebrations onto already existing holidays is valid! For example, I celebrate New Life Festival from Elder Scrolls, which is on January 01st, and thus overlaps with New Years.
The main thing is to make a day you want to actually celebrate. Make the ritual and/or celebration fun. You're making a new tradition for you, so go nuts and make it something you want to celebrate.
Don't worry about others being into it as well, because solo celebrated holidays are still valid!
Let me provide an example of a created holiday that hasn't actually passed for me yet: I have decided to honor Yevon and the Aeons on July 19, which was the day FFX released in Japan. This is a deity/guide honoring holiday, where I make offerings to Yevon and the Aeons.
I might, however, also make a social holiday on, say, April 1st to honor Clavicus Vile and Sheogorath by being an absolute fuckin' menace upon society.
I could also make a day for the longest night, Dec 21 this year, the Winter solstice, for Moonlight Cookie, and spend the night awake as much as I can be and perform some form of ritual that I'd have to make up to do so.
The opportunities are truly endless, and what matters really is just earnestness.
I feel like this answer is a bit chaotic, so feel free to return to my inbox if you have more questions lol, thanks for dropping by!

girl look at my spirit guides I'm going to hell ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
bun's week-long pop culture spirit work exercise:
monday: create a playlist for a pop culture spirit. play it for them and write down any feelings, sensations, or events that emerge.
tuesday: look up their iconography and anything inspired by them. take notes, and see if you can make a sigil from what is significant to you.
wednesday: look at a list of their tropes. write ones that stand out to you down, and see how you can judge what they might reside over, their personality, try to conclude some information. if you need confirmation or validation, see if you can confirm with a form of divination.
thursday: write a prayer inspired by one of the songs, their iconography, or their tropes. say it (or think it) to them while imagining the sigil you made for them, and write down any feelings, sensations, or events that emerge.
friday: it's time for offerings! based on what you've figured out, use your best judgment for deciding what you think they'll like. you can use a perishable offering, a votive offering, devotional acts, whatever suits! write down anything you learn during.
saturday: do a reading with them. this will require a divination deck, a pendulum, charms or bones, a playlist, a book, or anything you're comfortable using to talk to them. take this as a conversation, rather than an interview - talk to them as you get your responses, and write down anything that you find out.
sunday: finally, it's time to write down a correspondence list or basic guide. write down anything of importance. i tend to write down information about them, concepts they reside over, signs and symbols, offering ideas, and devotional acts - but go bananas here! jot down what you think is important.
bonus ideas: hanging out with their energy, doing a spell inspired by them, doing a spell with them, the sky's the limit! you don't have to do any of these activities if you don't want to, but i just thought i'd shed some light into how i organise myself with spirits and organise my thoughts regarding them. have fun!
