The evening is created and hosted by Laser Malena-Webber (The Doubleclicks, Catty Bs, SF Sketchfest) and Joseph Scrimshaw (Obsessed Podcast, Adult Swim, RiffTrax) at Geeky Teas' incredible performance space in Burbank! Our February show features comedian Kim Evey, writer and host Audrey Kearns and actor/musician Dana Swanson! Kim Evey is an actor, comedian, writer and new media producer who stopped doing all of those things when she become a mother. She is thrilled to be returning to stand up because it gives her an excuse to leave her house. Audrey Kearns is a writer, actor and producer. She majored in both theatre and political science at the University of Florida. The political science degree was to make her mother happy because her mother thought that living as an actor would be god-awful. She was right. Audrey is the founder and editor-in-chief of the influential pop culture website, Geek Girl Authority. She hosts and produces the podcasts Geeky Fun Time, Kneel Before Aud and 5 Truths and a Lie. She is a Los Angeles producer and host of The Story Collider. She also wrote, produced and performed in the successful one-person comedy Obsessively Okay which somehow managed to combine her battles with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with her love for Star Trek cosplay. If that's not nerdy enough for you, then just ask her to show you the two separate inhalers she carries with her at all times. Dana Swanson has been the co-hosting voice behind Toonami’s SARA since 2013. Her other voice acting and song credits include lots of Adult Swim stuff like Gemusetto Machu Picchu, Final Deployment 4, some songs on Fishcenter, Squidbillies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters. She’s also makes talky sounds for Malison on the Parks and Rec meets D&D narrative podcast Dark Ages. Give it a spin if you like the intersection of sorcery and law. She is currently writing about herself in third person and figuring out how to unite rooms with karaoke. Review snacks with her in a parking lot sometime. THE ZACH AND THE JESS: Zach Reino and Jessica McKenna are better known as the musical sketch duo The Zach and The Jess. They've written musical sketches for Party Over Here (Fox), Buzzfeed, FunnyOrDie, and Nickelodeon, and they created and starred in Serious Music, a digital series for ABC. Their weekly improvised musical podcast called, Off Book on Earwolf has been praised by various online publications including Indie Wire, USA Today, Parade, AV Club, and Splitsider. The podcast has also performed live at Comedy Central's Clusterfest, SF Sketchfest, and Just For Laughs. 

Amber Preston is a comedy seductress.  Recently named one of 5 Comedians to Watch in New York Magazine her brassy charisma and keenly honed jokecraft leave audiences powerless not to fall head over heels.  From raucous roadhouses to the classiest clubs Prestons saucy, mischievous charm captivates diehard and casual comedy fans alike. A proud native of Fargo, ND Prestons early performance career consisted of hosting family talent shows and dancing in the aisles of the Hornbachers grocery store hoping to be discovered by Lawrence Welk.  Years of musical theater,  improv training, and short film work followed.  In 2004 she took the plunge into standup comedy and immediately started turning heads. Preston is a natural improviser whose comedy can be defined as much by the method of its creation as by its hilarious outcomes.  She brings her piddly ideas, those small grains of nascent humor, to the stage.  There she pokes, prods, and explores them, involving the audience in every step of the instinctive and spontaneous process until they emerge days, weeks, or months later as comedy pearls.  Add to this a laundry list of quirky obsessions (mustaches, Hall and Oates, Hall and Oates mustaches), and a genuine passion for connecting and having fun with her audience and you have a recipe for true comedy excellence.

Femmedy Trio is an all-female comedic music group created by Stacey Hardke, Dahlya Glick, and Gabi Van Horn. With their sassy strength and clever lyrics, these ladies create funny, feminist tunes to save the world!

About Our Guests Mike Phirman is incredibly uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person, so he is going to write his bio in the second person. Youre from San Luis Obispo, California. You attended UCLA where you received a degree in Philosophy. After you graduated, you sold your car and used the money to hitchhike across Europe. When you came back to America, you worked as a visual effects artist for movies and TV. (Dont tell anyone, but on one episode of C.S.I. in which the camera follows a spark that sets off a car bomb, if you play it frame-by-frame, the spark briefly spells out Hi Mom!) You performed in comedy clubs and colleges as part of a comedy music duo called Hard n Phirm.  You confused a lot of people by singing about  and drove past a lot of corn. You love folding laundry and were born without a sense of smell. In 2010, you made a comedy music album called The Very Last Songs I Will Ever Record (Part 1). You lost your mind when Weird Al Yankovic showed up to perform on one of the tracks. (Hes one of the heroes that its actually good to meet.) After you and your wife Dannah had two kids, you shifted gears slightly and started recording songs that you found yourself singing for (and at) your kids. You hope that these songs can be listened to in the car by a whole family without the parents wanting to find you and kill you.  In 2018, you released an album of this music called Songs to Sing at Children. SiriusXMs channel 78 (Kids Place Live) has been extremely supportive and played most of your songs. You appreciate them very much. Most recently, you googled the words comedy musician bio what to write. You found nothing helpful. Lexie Grace is an ambidextrous Black and Puerto Rican comedian and filmmaker based in Los Angeles.Raised by a pack of wild female comediennes, Lexie Grace has always been drawn to comedy. Its in her blood. With that said, Lexie takes comedy seriously. She has taken classes at UCB, Second City, Groundlings, and the Pack Theatre and most recently jumping into stand-up. A New York University graduate from the Tisch School of the Arts, Lexie focused on writing and directing. Lexie has written several comedy features, in addition to directing several shorts. A Billy Wilder devotee, she believes his quote, "If youre going to tell the truth, be funny, or they will kill you". She currently is watching lots of Korean Soaps, Mexican Telanovelas, and German Sitcoms. Allie Goertz is a pop-culture obsessed musician and writer and acts as the current Editor at MAD Magazine. (It's just a place of business.) You may have seen her at Comic-Con, SF Sketchfest, IFC's 10 Comedy Musicians You Need To Know, or in her blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Arrested Development. Mathman and Entertainer Richard Malena-Webber! Friday, January 25th. Doors at 7:30pm, show at 8! 18+. About Our Guests J. Elvis Weinstein began his stand-up career in Mpls. at age 15. He was 17 when he became one of the founding writer/performers on Mystery Science Theater 3000 (first 33 eps). He was the original voice of Tom Servo and Gypsy, and played Mad Scientist Dr. Lawrence Erhardt. Since moving to Los Angeles at 20, he has worked as a writer/producer on "Freaks and Geeks" (NBC), "Malcolm and Eddie" (UPN) , "Dead Last" (WB) and "My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star (WB) and Talk Soup (E!). He was also the Head Writer on "America's Funniest Home Videos" (ABC) and "Later with Greg Kinnear" (NBC). J. Elvis has also written drama pilots for HBO, UPN, Sony, and co-created and executive produced "Fast Food Films" for FX. He recently released a feature-length documentary about stand-up comedy called "I Need You To Kill" and continues to perform as a stand-up comic all over. Lucia Fasano is a Los Angeles based actor, singer-songwriter, comedian, writer, and cartoonist. Shes recently appeared on IFCs Portlandia as Lasik Girl, in the All Jane Comedy Festival, the New York Funny Songs Fest, Emerald City Comic Con and Rose City Comic Con. Shes written for Image Comics and The Higgs Weldon. Her work has been featured on @midnight, in The Huffington Post, Paste Magazine, Mashable, Pajiba, The Mary Sue, Geek and Sundry, The Portland Mercury and more. Lucia also writes and co-stars in the comedy web series Catty Bs with The Doubleclicks Angela Webber. She graduated cum laude from Portland State University, studying creative writing, theatre, and gender studies. Lucia moved to Portland, Oregon to pursue the arts, co-founding The Grrrl Front all-women music and comedy festival, while playing solo shows, writing and producing for local sketch shows, and performing standup comedy and improv with her group, Teachers Pet. After the devastating loss of her father, she decided to record her music. Her first album, Radio Silence, was released in 2016, produced by Larry Crane, on Doubleclicks Records. Since then, shes recorded a followup produced by Hutch Harris (The Thermals) and Jessica Boudreaux (Summer Cannibals), release date TBA. Shes now back in Los Angeles acting, writing, and performing. Lucia has leant her voice talents to the Spec Script podcast, the Gosh Darn Fiasco podcast, and can be heard on podcasts such as Lady to Lady and Obsessed w/ Joseph Scrimshaw. Described as sharply hilarious, her comedy has been compared to Maria Bamford and Rachel Bloom, while her music has been called hauntingly beautiful, compared to She & Him, Regina Spektor, and Amanda Palmer. Jackie Kashian is a comic whose current album, I Am Not The Hero Of This Story, was #1 comedy album on iTunes and Amazon and is critically acclaimed. She is in the thirteenth year of her podcast The Dork Forest, where she talks with people about what they love to do, think about and collect. She also has a podcast with Laurie Kilmartin where they complain and celebrate standup comedy. It is called The Jackie and Laurie Show.A Los Angeles resident with deep midwestern roots, the dark yet silly comedy of Riley Silverman has been seen at the Women in Comedy Festival and as the first transgender performer at Portland’s All Jane comedy festival. Her debut comedy album, Intimate Apparel, was a #1 best seller on Amazon.com. Riley also writes for Maximum Fun and Nerdist. The Library Bards have become a staple in the new Comic and Pop Culture Convention scene. Traveling the United States, the dynamic performances of Bonnie Gordon (ABC’s The Quest; voice of R. Mika in Street Fighter V), and Xander Jeanneret (TBS’ King of the Nerds; voice of the Announcer in Divekick) bring life to the main stages of Cosplay Contests, Panels, and Concert performances.
