a bunch of advice when it comes to playing certain Dandys world toons :3
Ok so I was like— super bored and decided to write some notes and tips of a bunch of random Dw toons.. :3. (When it comes to how to play them, tricks you can use, and trinket combos). Not doing all but here’s a few— if y’all wanna add onto certain points of counter stuff please do lol >:3 (keep in mind this is coming from someone who mains pebble, Shelly, Astro and Teagan. Also I’m not doing Halloween toons rn as I don’t have any of them and can’t give and fair info on play styles as I haven’t tried them)
Connie: first of all, MY personal trinkets for her are pink bow and vanity mirror. As Connie is almost always running to get to machines due to her 1 star speed, pink bow DOES help greatly in her speed and makes her decently fast. Vanity mirror adds into this ALOT during panic, super good pick on her. If there IS a Connie in the round and T. Glisten spawns, get the Connie to babysit. Due to her ability she’ll be able to get out of trouble and loose twisteds easily, her 5 star stealth helps her not pull from distractors at all. Try to avoid twisteds in general, but specially try to avoid fast ones like toodles or Shelly if your abilitys on recharge. Personally I try to not pick up smoke bombs when using her due to her ability, but if no one wants it it could be a decent item to pick up. Notably, bocs and ejecButtons are good to have on her too. Don’t do treadmill machines as her if possible to save your stam in case twisteds come, since it’s a bit harder to loose LOS unless your abilitys ready. Another thing is to try to stay close to the ele, but it’s not too big of a deal if you have run speed boosting trinkets on her. A trinket that is situation but I could see working on he is pep icing as it can give her a bit more mobility after using her ability and help her hide during the time it’s active. Soul sword and blush bat could work, as if she gets hit it can help her quickly get away, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it. Speedy shoes is also a decent pick, but I do prefer vanity mirror.
Cosmo: immediately I’m gonna say; VEEMOTE IS GREAT ON HIM! Cosmo does struggle with machines due to his one star skill check, and veemote does help quickly get a machine done with him. Another thing I will note is to NEVER use trinkets that lower skill check size, as Cosmo can already be a bit hard to hit. Also AVOID the circle skill check machines. If you’re doing machines, try to do mainly the normal ones and possibly the treadmills? When using Cosmo, I’d say to try NOT to heal when you’re on 2 unless you have a medkit, the only situation where I would break this rule is if the distractor was on one. Another thing is to NOT heal people who are on 2, ONLY heal if they’re at one. There’s also certain toons you should prioritize heals for, notably sprout and distractors whom are on 1. Due to the fact sprout can heal other toons but NOT himself, and the distractors are the ones with twisteds. At the start of the round, get meds and bands, but on layers floors avoid bands (unless you have inv space and your on 2). On later floors try to focus only on meds since by then they shouldn’t be as rare and because they will let you heal more people. If theirs a bassie in the run you can let them pick up the extra meds or bands, and they can give it to you if needed (or get them to give to another person). Memory locket is a decent trinket choice for Cosmo, as it will highlight the heals and you won’t need to rely on teammates to communicate where they are and/or you won’t need to worry about someone stealing before you can get it. I know a lot of people like thinking cap, but honestly it’s not a very good choice on Cosmo, there’s way better options. Blue bandana does work well with Cosmo, as it boosts the extraction speed and lowers the chance of getting a skill check (not the skill check size). Pink bow is a decent choice for mobility, as it can let you run to people who need heals quicker. Dog plush wouldn’t be my personal choice, since if you’re using Cosmo your gonna be running to heal, not walking. Also as Cosmo, you can try to do machines near where the distractor is due to your four star stealth. You should be fine coming near the distractor, just don’t be stupid about it.
Teagan: first of all, DO NOT USE FANCY PURSE OR COIN PURSE EVER. The tapes are nice, but you’re gonna easily get tapes as the round goes on, they’re just a waste of a slot. now, I usually run distractor Teagan, but I’ll try to provide both tips for that and extracting. As Teagan, if you’re not the distractor, stay far from the actual distractor as you have 2 star stealth. Another thing to note is that you should NOT be picking up tapes of theirs a sprout. The sprout takes tape priority due to the fact his ability heals other people, while Teagan only heals herself. Please don’t ask for heals as a Teagan or take them UNLESS you truly do need one (like.. your on recharge and your on one— or your on one but don’t have nearly enough tapes. That’s a situation where you could ask for a heal). Dandy plush is a decent choice on her, but personally isn’t my go too. It’s good for the sake of saving tapes, but as a Teagan you’re not gonna want to buy stuff from dandy much anyways (unless it’s like— a med kit or another decent item). Extracting wise, mag glass + veemote and mag glass + participation award are both the main go to sets. Both are very good for boosting her extraction. A decent choice for her mobility wise is pink bow due to her 4 star stam. Distracting wise, it’s good to have either dog plush + speedy shoes or dog plush + pink bow. Personally I go for the first one, as Teagan only has 3 star speed and I’d prefer to save stam for panic mode. If you ARE distracting as Teagan my personal advice is— try to distract the twisteds around an island or as if you were distracting pebble. It helps keep them farther and it helps you save stam from needing to sprint tap. Also don’t go too out of your way for tapes, you’re gonna get them from the encounters and it’s not really worth risking it. Tisha and Astros are nice to have while using Teagan as a dis, so they can boost your speed and stam. I would avoid doing really fast twisteds unless you know what you’re doing. Teagan can NOT distract pebble or gourdy, if they’re active just avoid them all together and let them roam.
Tisha: Tisha is very good at both extraction and distraction while also being able to support. With her ability, use it the moment you get on the floor to help everyone move faster. This helps extractors get to machines and helps speed up the distractor so they can gather twisteds faster. During panic, DONT use your ability right at the elevator unless it’s an emergancy. Using her ability, try to focus on the distractor (if their doing mains, glisten, or blackout coal) or use it on toons being chased (prioritize slow toons or low heart toons if this is the case). When boosting a distractor, try NOT to run directly at them as you may pull from them. Instead, go behind an island or glass wall where they 100% can see you. Usually they WILL run closer to you if they want a boost. Try not to boost them however if they are looping pebble or gourdy, as you may pull the twisted, distract them or mess up their flow with the speed change. If the distractor is doing good or scraps, I personally would avoid boosting them for the Same exact reason. If your using her as a distractor, some trinket combos I would recommend are dog plush + speedy shoes, dog plush + clown horn or ribbon spool, dog plush + scrapbook and dog plush + pink bow. All of these are good for different reasons. The first combo being the basic combo that most people use. Dog plush + ribbon spool or clown horn is good if your duo distracting. Scrapbook could be good IF most of your lobby has 2 star stats (as Tisha has 3). Pink bow is also a decent choice. (Personally I’d go for just dog plush and speedy but all of these are viable). For extracting, the basic mag glass + veemote or mag glass + participation award is what I’d use. Not much to say. If you’re wanting to go full support though, ghost snakes + pep icing or ghost snakes + sweet charm would be decent picks. Ghost snakes alone will lower the cooldown of the ability to 45, with sweet charm this will lower to 41. And if you get both of the ability cooldown lowering cards, this can be lowered to 31. Pep icing can also refill your stam, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it on Tisha too much. It’s not needed as badly as she had 4 star speed.
Toodles: toodles is definitely an interesting case. Personally the ONLY combo I really see being super viable on her is ghost snakes + pep icing or the basic combos if you wanna extract (mag glass + veemote or participation award). Toodles isn’t very viable as a distractor due to her 4 star stealth and 3 star speed. And her ability does has a chance of working against distracting. (Like if you’re distracting and it boosts your extraction, skill check of stealth.) on toodles, I would try to focus on using trinkets that work with the ability. Using pep icing and ghost snakes will both lower the cooldown so you can spam it more and be able to fill up a bit of stam. And since it is spamable you could quickly regain your stam. Plus stacking this with cards could get you lowered down to a 10 second cooldown. Not too much to say, but I will note that you can do machines closer to the distractor due to her four star stealth.
Astro: ok first of all, DO NOT USE YOUR ABILITY RIGHT AT THE ELE DURING PANIC. It is SUCH a waste of the ability usage and wayyy to many Astro players make this mistake. As an Astro, your main focus should be to support the team, and do machines IF it’s really needed. (Though if highly recommend letting people with better extraction take your machines). Astro is also able to do the machines near a distractor due to his 5 star stealth. Trinket wise, my person choices would be either pink bow + veemote or pink bow + speedy shoes. With veemote, you’ll be able to quickly do a machine and go back to supporting. And with speedy instead, it can help you completely focus on your mobility and supporting. With Astros ability, you want to be careful with its usage due to its base 60 second cooldown. Only really use it in the following situations. 1: if the distractor is at low stam. 2: if sprout is at low stam in order to help them go around the map more in search of tapes or items. And 3: use it on toons being chased with low stam (prioritize low speed and/or stam toons). As an Astro, don’t worry too much about approaching the distractor. As long as they have line of sight, you should NEVER be pulling from them. Item wise, I highly recommend always having ONE air horn in your inventory as an Astro. the reason is that you can use the air horn in an emergency situation to save a teammate or if someone slow is being chased and your on recharge. Try to avoid extracting if possible due to your 2 star skill check and 3 star extraction, but do it if it is really needed. Don’t be afraid to sprint, as his passive helps a lot with Astros mobility. NEVER pair up pink bow with dog plush on Astro. As an Astro, you’re going to be running ALOT more then walking to get to teammates quicker, it would be a waste of a slot. Do NOT bother healing stamina of teammates who are just wasting it and aren’t being chased or are just on a machine.
Pebble: ohh boy a lot to say about him. First of all, he IS a viable extractor and distractor (and in my opinion, is the best distractor in the game). Distracting wise, run either dog plush + speedy shoes, or dog plush + clown horn or ribbon spool. Only do the second one IF your duo distracting. I wouldn’t recommend pink bow too much on pebble, as most of the time pebbles are out walking twisteds and don’t need to run. Pebbles bark can be used to either quickly call tons of nearby twisteds towards you or pull from other people. Pebble with the right trinkets can out walk nearly every twisted in the game (the only exceptions being pebble, gourdy and glisten.). Extracting wise, there’s a few sets that I can see working in pebble. Those being dog plush + veemote, pink bow + veemote, mag glass + veemote, and mag glass + participation award. The first two are able to help you quickly do the treadmill machines AND possibly have you be a back up distractor if needed. The other two are both related to your skill check, which can help you do machines quicker and paired up with your five star speed can help you immediately get to machines again after. If your an extractor pebble, use your ability either at the end of panic mode or to save teammates. DO NOT PULL FROM THE DISTRACTOR. As a extractor pebble you can also focus a bit on helping cosmos, bassies or gingers find items like meds or bands using your passive.
Shelly: she’s in my opinion the BEST extractor in the game. She is able to distract, specially if machines are being done quickly, but I wouldn’t recommend it. This is due to her amazing extraction and support potential that honestly are better than her distracting potential (though I have distracted as Shelly during emergency situations). With Shelly, I would recommend either mag glass + veemote or mag glass + participation award. If you’re doing a super planned out run however, ONLY the alpha Shelly in the run should be using mag glass and participation award while the others have veemotes instead. As Shelly, you should boost toons you see on machines, specially if they’re a slow extractor in order to speed them up. With Shelly’s passive you are able to quickly get from machine to machine, if you really want to up her mobility either pink bow or cooler are decent choices. (Though I wouldn’t recommend cooler due to it slowing her down speed wise. It will help with her stam however). If you’re doing a planned run, follow the alpha Shelly and stick together in a big group. All Shelly’s should focus on machines in specific areas before moving into the next one.
Ok that’s all the ones I’m doing for now since I’ve been writing for nearly 2 hours.. erm.. if you want me to make another one of theses give me some toons you’d want me to talk about.
