hey guys i dont know how to tell you this but if you are using fanfiction or writing fanfiction as an outlet to glorify or fetishize rape or pedophilia AND get mad when people give you constructive criticism and feedback about how glorifying said rape and pedophilia is detrimental to young readers getting into the fanfiction scene… amongst other reasons.. i genuinely hope you find help.

i know ppl are gonna continue to do what they want and i promise im not trying to censor anyone or anything bc this is just an opinion but can we not at least glorify it???

and no. i dont give a shit about that excuse that “i dont have to read it if i don’t like it” obviously im not gonna read it but GLORIFYING (and im not talking about pieces of media spreading awareness about it because that is a good thing) rape and pedophilia is wrong and there shouldn’t be a place for it in media at all.

and back onto the topic of young readers getting into fanfiction and stumbling on works that do glorify it. to START i know minors shouldn’t be reading 18+ works in the first place. but it unfortunately is bound to happen… it happened to me, it might’ve happened to you. When i was getting into fanfiction at first, i did shape a lot of my perception of real life relationships and sexual interactions around the things i read. imagine a minor stumbling across those fics that instead of raising awareness about rape and pedophilia, they glorify it and glamorize it. im sure some will based their perception about real life and relationships and connections around this. now i know we cant make it so they avoid it entirely but cant we make it easier for them to enjoy fanfiction in a way that doesnt damage their perceptions of real world connections?
