direheterosisā:
She was so sure there had been something on the air she recognised, a familiar scent that had brought both a sense of nostalgia and comfort at once. But amongst the crowd and warring aromas it had become too difficult to pick out the source⦠Perhaps she should curse her less than perfect eyesight, perhaps she had merely picked up a blend of things entirely unrelated that had reminded her of something, someone.
With a soft sigh the crossbreed had turned to continue on with her errands. Until she heard a voice that froze her in her tracks. Her eyes widened immediately, and she was almost afraid to turn around. But more scared was she that if she waited too long the source would have vanished all over again.Ā
āOhā¦ā
There really was no mistaking that armour, and the sight filled her with a warm rush instantly. The shock at least gave her a few moments extra to process his words, and she restrained herself from rushing down to his level. She felt her eyes watering.Ā
āAha⦠Y-yes, indeed we have⦠Haha, itās- Iām sorry- Do not-⦠Do not be ashamedā¦ā She wiped at one of her eyes.Ā āThou art not mistaken, Siegmeyerā¦ā Perhaps saying his name would help, perhaps saying her name would help. But what if it didnāt? That, she couldnāt consider. She lowered herself onto her knees that they might be a little more level.Ā
āMine name is Priscilla⦠I understand how time can be a strange thing, but⦠It is outstanding to see thee again.āĀ
Ā Ā Ā Oh dear... So his intuition hadĀ been correct all along. Heās not sure whether he should be gladĀ or worried. Clearly, heād caused some minor distress, if that lookĀ in her eyes had anything to say about it. For the moment, he could really only find himself stammering and shuffling nervously, as though a wave of guiltĀ had tried to push him over with every little exhale.
Ā Ā Ā Think... Just think... Those memories haveĀ to be in there somewhere...
āĀ P... Priscilla... The name doesĀ ring a few bells, ah-hah.Ā āĀ Not many. Not as many as heād hoped.Ā
āĀ Pray tell... It wasnāt hereĀ that we met, was it? I donāt... Quite recognize the place, and yet it feels all so familiar. As though Iāve beenĀ here before. Perhaps itās all these jittersĀ that are making my brain all fuzzy. Just another one of thoseĀ silly little thingsĀ that occur when you get older, I suppose. No matter... Itās quite a pleasure to meet a friendlyĀ face again. Iām certain once Iāve grown accustomed to the place, all those wondrousĀ memories will come flooding back in again, my dear!Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Having her kneel makes this conversation farĀ easier. Thereās no need to go straining his neck, and getting the chance to shuffle closer and rest a hand gently against her knee for support made this conversation a little less awkward.
āĀ I do hope I did not cause you any trouble. I hadnāt the intentions to upset you, really. Please, if there is anythingĀ I can do to cheer you up, donāt hesitate to speak. I know things are a little weirdĀ at the moment, but I trust that overtime it will all go back to normalĀ between you and I!Ā ā
