♕ THE ruse of fiddling with her shoddy, sorry excuse of a replica of her family’s heirloom is only to provide a distraction for the Gerudo. Truthfully if she is to think too long on her current situation, the girl is certain to panic; something of which she wants to avoid for the time being. Instead she wants to maintain a clear mind like her mother always had, and think of ways to approach this situation…
… As well as find a way out of here.
So as she continues to adjust her oversized iron helm, lost in her thoughts, the monarch becomes aware of a pair of eyes staring at her. While it’s true she can’t see quite clearly because of how large the helm is, the redhead can feel another’s gaze on her.
❝ It doesn’t look too bad now, does it? ❞
Gamora doesn’t tend to stare. She watches, quick glances as she studies strangers and friends alike when she doesn’t want them to know she is looking. But she catches herself looking at the girl with beautiful long red hair with the gold thing on her head, and soon enough the girl catches her too.
She hesitates, staring at whatever it was that was on her head as she ponders the right words to say to a complete stranger. Does she really care? No. But it’s best not to make enemies in this place.
“... It looks impractical at best.”

Marzia was unfortunately not allowed into most stores in the marketplace, so Camilla was always forced to leave her behind when she needed to go inside for something. With reassurance and love, she’s able to get the wyvern to sit obediently and promise not to cause any trouble. Usually no one dares approach her because of how dangerous she looks, so when Camilla comes out of the store to see that someone’s stopped to look her over, she can’t help but feel pleasantly surprised.
“I see that you find my darling interesting.” Her free hand moves to gently rub the top of Marzia’s head as she turns her attention to the woman looking at her. “Would you like to touch her? I promise that she won’t bite. Her diet does not consist of beautiful women, so feel free.” A sort of weird compliment, but one nonetheless.
“If you are curious, she is a wyvern and a very cute one, at that.” Just to get that cleared up and out of the way. The wyvern doesn’t move, only looks up at Camilla and then back to her observer and then a slow nod is given ( or at least what could be interpreted as a nod ) to signify that it’s indeed fine to give her a gentle pat.
A woman approaches without fear, placing her hand on the beasts head with familiarity. Gamora doesn’t move a muscle, studying the woman as she speaks. She is clearly charming, or is a good enough actress. But Gamora doesn’t doubt her. If this beast wasn’t friendly, it would have been attacking already as it has had multiple opportunities to do so. Reaching out, the assassin gently brushes her fingertips against smooth scales.
“... Are these common where you are from?” She pulls her hand away, and turns her attention on the woman.
She is wearing foreign clothing, but Gamora knows armor when she sees it. This woman carries herself with pride, probably a noble woman of some sort. She doesn’t return the smile, but Gamora doesn’t sound as harsh as she might usual. “What are you? A beast master?”
So, I’ve been gone for awhile and would like for Gamora to meet new people. And by meet I mean mostly ignore and roll her eyes at. This is a selective uncapped ad! I’ll end it when I feel this has enough likes if it ever gets to that point.

.·˙˙·..·˙˙·..·˙˙· On the upside, he’s at least heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy. On the downside… well, he blurts that out pretty quickly. “Oh yeah, I’ve heard of you guys. Don’t you guys have a raccoon on your team?” Sure, the idea of an intergalactic team of aliens (and one Earthling) who protect the entire Milky Way with their kickass assortment of godlike powers and futuristic super-weapons is incredible, but the part that really stands out is… that. Maybe something else would capture his attention more if he ever met them, but by all accounts, he swears he hasn’t.
“Skrulls, huh? I’m starting to think they’re the universal scapegoat. Killed someone? Nah, it wasn’t me; it was a Skrull. Kidnapped? By a Skrull. Someone farted at the dinner table? Probably a Skrull. Not that I’m complaining, ‘cause I’ve never exactly had a rip-snortin’ good time with a Skrull, but can’t we pin the blame on someone else for once? What about the Kree? Or the Klyntar? The Klyntar seem pretty likely.”
Well, that did sting her pride a little bit. Out of everyone on their team, he has only heard of Rocket? She shows her distaste with a frown, suddenly feeling less friendly toward the human spider. “Yes, that is us. Though, a word of warning, Rocket has shot others without warning for calling him that.” Rocket had killed people for less. Most of them had, aside maybe Quill and Groot.
Spider-Man goes on and on about Skrulls, and while she can’t really blame him, it begins to grate at her nerves. So, she ignores it.
“I need to know everything you know about this place. Our captors, the sectors, who is dangerous in here, if there is a way out. Judging from just who is trapped here, I doubt it. But if you know anything that may be useful, I’ll owe you a debt in the future.” Not that she wanted to, but she would be fair to anyone willing to help her.
“Have you seen any of my friends here?”

The rifle swung over her shoulder was perhaps overkill, but Natasha had hardly ever been a woman to do things by halves. She’d only survived this long by being cautious —- or what the naive ones would call paranoid. She’d outlive them, just like she had already outlived so many that she had known in her life.
And life in the Hive had her growing restless. Without missions to carry out, she would have to make her own. Reconnaissance, she decided, would keep her occupied well enough. And after all, a good predator always knew who walked onto her web. The gun was merely a back-up plan, in case the city decided to suddenly unleash another horde of robots or pariahs or whatever else with the intention of making her life harder than it needed to be.
It was meant to be an easy night. Meant to, until she noticed someone tailing her. There was no fault to her steps, even and almost carefree as she rounded the corner in the shadows of the alley, away from prying eyes in case this got ugly. Her fingers remained curled around the strap of her gun, her other hand resting on her hip; nonchalant.
Human. Now where had she been addressed like that before?
“You followed me because you wanted a gun?” Natasha asked in return, the question accompanied by a curious tilt of her head and the narrowing of green eyes. “I’d say the fewer of these around the city the better, don’t you?”
This woman is cautious. Smart. Gamora could tell a fighter from someone untrained, and this woman was that. The way she held herself, how she carefully had a hand close to her gun, ready to shoot at any moment. And, like this, if Gamora couldn’t dodge her, then she would die from such a wound. The assassin felt as though this was a fall from grace. Everything Thanos had equipped with had been taken from her, and Gamora was not used to being weak.
“Perhaps. But I’ve never been one to take away protection from those who need it. And considering how every other unlucky sap thrown in here had magic or abilities at their fingertips, the rest of us have get power other sources.” If this was going to go nowhere, then Gamora would prefer to walk away now. But something caught her eye about this woman. Curiosity for curiosity’s sake, maybe.
“I am like everyone else new here. They took everything from me. All I am asking is if you know someone who deals weapons, and not to attack you or others innocent. If you don’t believe me, then fine. But if you can help me, I’ll owe you a debt.”

When he had first opened his eyes, the light had been dazzling. He had covered his field of vision with one gloved hand, squinting to try to reduce the glare. For a moment, confusion had settled over Damian. His last memory had been of the sudden crackling of a loud-speaker, and the voice that had echoed across all of the Hive. And then, darkness. So to wake up in such blinding conditions had been a shock, to say the least. To sit up and find himself among soaring buildings that sparkled and glittered, the sun and the clouds so close he could reach out and touch them. It was a beautiful sight, and so, naturally, Damian had immediately been wary.
It was a feeling that hadn’t let up, even now. Not when he’d encountered his older brother, the Red Hood, or when they’d found the green-skinned assassin Damian had briefly tangled with before. It showed in the permanent scowl that furrowed the skin between his brows as he listened to Gamora speak, and in the arms crossed over his chest. Despite his hostile appearance, though, the boy did agree with her, and so when he opened his own mouth to reply, his words were not quite as harsh as they might otherwise have been.
❝ Only a select few are permitted to enter Olympia, and if I am not one, then Todd surely isn’t either. ❞ He clicked his tongue then, the sharp TT sound emphasizing his point. ❝ And despite previous attempts, I have only been able to dig up vague information about the city itself. But now that we are here, I assume it will be possible to learn more. However, I suggest our first priority would be to find a map of some kind. Or do you disagree? ❞ A glance was thrown from Jason to Gamora, one slim eyebrow raised.

Damian did warn him, all of those months ago. It certainly was not some giant, city-wide parade, oh no. This was a whole other level of bizarre that he, Red Hood, was not prepared of. That was his mistake of course, underestimating just how much power this city held within itself to manipulate reality to such a degree that would it made his own world’s craziness minuscule in comparison. It was by luck, though much to his chagrin, that he happened to run into a couple of familiar faces after waking up on this floating, foreign land.
Current Boy Wonder, Robin and the green-skinned alien space babe with a bone to pick with everyone, Gamora. Both who happen to have sticks so high up their rear ends, they could match Jason’s. Perfect. The fact that they knew each other beforehand helped with skipping introductions, however.
They were tense about the whole ordeal and who wouldn’t be? It’s understandable, given the situation. But even Jason can see just how much tension these two put off, though fortunately, despite Damian’s shade, all members of the party remained somewhat amicable. After shooting the younger Robin a brief glare through his crimson helmet, Jason eventually agreed to his suggestion.
“If we all know nothing about this place, then getting the lay of the land down would be the way to go,“ he added in, eyes forward now. Finding a map shouldn’t be too hard. Downloading one to a mobile device would be better, but they didn’t have that luxury. “Guess we’re going old school on this one. First thing’s first though. How in the hell did we end up all the way up here? Didn’t catch any of the chatter back down in Hivesville.“
@galactikkiller | @batsheir· | @wingedoutlaw
That had not been exactly what she meant. Her mind goes back to the message the scientists had left for them. This was just a test, the first of many. But to decipher what was truth, what was lies, and how the scientists wanted them to react was what Gamora was most concern with.
“A layout may take too much time beyond the possibility of getting something simple.” She is calm, and to the point. “It doesn’t matter how we got here. They dragged us to the Hive, they can drag us anywhere. The only thing that I am sure of from all of this is something is happening in seven days time. We need to prepare for that. Weapons, food, water, shelter, providing help.” She wasn’t any happier about being dragged and forced into this game either, but there was very little she could do about it now.
Eyes scan the street ahead of them. No movement. No sound. No other way out of the corner they had woken up in. Slowly, Gamora takes a few steps out into the open. Nothing happens. “We can get a layout if you want, but I’d rather find a place to hide out before it gets dark. I suggest picking a building, going several floors up, and barricading it.”
@batsheir - @wingedoutlaw
“If there is to be a contest of terrible paternal figures, then I believe I know a sure winner.” Thanos sucks.
The Emerald City | CA Event
Setting: Olympia
There is a strange hush over the city known as Olympia. It is a beautiful city, filled with sparkling glass and innovative technology that even leaves even Gamora impressed. She had never been to this part of the Hive, as access had been denied to her. Even when she yelled and fought, she hadn’t managed to find a way to enter the floating regal city. But being forced there with no means of escape during her sleep? Not what she had in mind for a day trip.
Back against a wall, a metal rod in hand she had taken from statue and pointed into a crude spear in hand, Gamora stares out in search for others. Though she has been taken by surprise, the assassin is not defenseless. Her foster father had trained her mercilessly for these situations, and she had lived through many of them before. Plus, she was not alone.
Beside her is Red Hood, someone she had reluctantly fought with many times during her stay in the Hive. The other is Robin, a boy she barely knew. She felt sorry for him, being so young and already in danger. But something told her he didn’t need her pity. But even in a group, there was danger. They needed supplies and shelter before something found them, and fast.
“Everyone is going to be hiding. Either guiding their supplies or waiting for someone to make a move and jump them. It wouldn’t be this quiet otherwise, and no one is making an attempt to get to the escape point. No doubt that is a waste of time. Have either of you been here? Do you know the layout of this city?”

Like her wooden sword, his guns were just for show. They look like the real thing, shine and all, but these were mere replicas. Toys compared to the lethal bite of the real thing. They were meant to intimidate but Gamora’s presence shook that out of the thugs they were fighting, prompting them to grow aggressive. Change of plans, Jason thought to himself. He’d rather just go with the flow this time.
One more lunged at him from one side and Red Hood shot bb pellet, hitting the man square in the eye. Bullseye. The man yelped in pain and Jason took that opportunity to deliver his heel right into the man’s jaw, flipping him on over hard and on the ground. Toys they may be, but aimed right, these could still hurt. But it had its limits, and Jason found himself cornered with Gamora in a few short strides.
“What?“ he spat, sparing the assassin a glance. “Oh, get over yourself. That was one time! And you couldn’t see it, but I wanted to let you know that I rolled my eyes under the helmet.“ He needn’t be so defensive, but it truly was just mere coincidence that the two happened upon each other again. Still, he does tell her what he was doing here in the first place. “I’ve been tracking these guys for days hoping to bust them wide open. I’m a vigilante sweetheart. That’s what I do? Then you showed up!“
Jason shot a couple more rounds into the men’s faces, all sensitive areas. How he missed the sound of actual gunfire right now. “So what the hell are you doing here stealing my thunder anyways?”
If Gamora hadn’t been preoccupied with the thugs surrounding them she would have threatened Red Hood. It was as much as he deserved, along with a good thrashing. But there isn’t the time, and Gamora uses her irritation and anger towards the men around them instead of Todd himself. The man Jason shot walks away, screaming in pain while one tries to take a punch toward her head. She ducks, kneeing him in the crotch. It is a dirty trick, but without her advanced strength and durability, Gamora hadn’t much use for honor. He yells, and Gamora silences him by striking him across the face with her sword. Hard.
One down, four more to go.
“One of these men isn’t human. I’m trying to find out which.” Most people in this city were human, but not all. Every now and then someone would find someone set apart from the human physic. And some, well, they could blend in if they didn’t want to be found.
Gamora ignores his jabs. They run off her like water. She has lived with Peter Quill, after all. But her patience isn’t infinite. Another man behind her, she bends forward and slams him down into the ground. He hits the floor with his head, and he doesn’t make another sound.
“Shut up and fight. Tell me if one of them changes appearance. We can’t let them get away.”
