In order to commemorate the latest Cowboy themed cover page, I felt as though it were necessary to post these wonderful images!

Dear Gai-Sensei,

      I miss you. Not a day goes by where I do not think about your loud, booming voice as you exercised your authority on the training field, or the calming relaxed tone you used with me in our most intimate of moments. Every morning as I make my way to the training field, I find myself praying that someday, I am going to see you there again, anticipating my arrival so that we may have another youthful, exciting workout.

      More often then sometimes I am upset with myself for having not fully appreciated the time I spent with you. Even if everyday with you was a blessing, I had become so accustomed to your presence that I began to take advantage of having you by my side. Although there is no use in mourning that lost time, and as lonely as I appear, there is not a shred of my being that is not proud of you.

      I will not make a mockery of your death by crying. In your final moments you were the complete embodiment of what it meant to be a true Shinobi. You had trained your team well for war, you were strategic, and till the end even if the price was your life, you did it all for the greater good. And knowing that, I have no tears to shed, because everyday as I train to become a stronger, smarter ninja, I can feel your spirit alive within me, encouraging not only myself, but everyone also.

      Sensei, it is because of you that I am where I am today - happy, and inspired. Even without you or Neji, Tenten and I are training harder then ever, to honor the memories you two have gifted us.

      Thank you, Gai-sensei, for not only being my mentor, but also my friend. Thank you for having guided me towards the path of full filling my dream, you will always be the person who most impacted my life.

It was an exhausting day. After climbing mountains and sparring sessions that left the two ninja’s bruised and starving, it was comforting to finally get home. The moon was high above the sky and the stars sprinkled across the dark in little flashes, and Gai fumbled into his pockets to search for his key. “Ah, there it is!” he exclaimed, turning the knob as he opened the door. “Come on Lee, let’s g-” he paused, staring at the sweat stained back of his hard working pupil. He was leaning against the railing, head tilted upward as his eyes gazed up at the mesmerizing sky above.

“How many stars do you think there are, Sensei?” he asked, completely oblivious to the rest of his environment as he stared at three, glistening diamonds that out shined the rest. As the older man moved to his lover’s side, he joined him in drinking in the lovely sight. “Who knows? There’s one star that I can’t stop staring at.” he nodded, as Lee turned to him. “That one, Sensei?” he pointed to the one on the far right, which Gai had responded with a shake of his head. “That one? How about that one? The one over there?” all were given the same response, and Lee finally cracked. “Which one is it, Sensei?”

“That star is right next to me, Lee.”
