Motörhead’s 4th studio album was released on 8 November 1980. Ace of Spades was the band’s debut album in the US.
Producer Vic Maile (who had worked with Lemmy on Hawkwind’s 1973 album Space Ritual) is credited by the band for improving their sound and capturing the energy of their live performance (”Vic’s strength was that he understood rock and roll,” Lemmy said).
