Absently, you wondered if all demons were meant to be so beautiful, or if this one was simply an exception to the rule, your mind struggling to stick to the topic at hand, with such a stunning distraction practically giving you bedroom eyes.
With dark brown skin and freckles that looked like flecks of molten gold, they looked more like some kind of god of old, rather than a supposed creature of sin, as the records before you, claimed. Something that, the more you thought about it, wasnât likely all that far off.
Humanity had a way of twisting tales and skewing the truth of things, especially over long periods of time or when something challenged their world view. A fact that had become more and more apparent over the past few months of you working here.
It seemed like you were constantly having your silent assumptions dispelled, something that made you rather glad that you were the kind to withhold judgement and check all the facts before ever saying or doing anything. In all honesty, it was this very trait that had made your work here so much easier for you, than it was for your peers.
Apparently having taken a liking to your polite and nonjudgmental manner, many of the supernatural beings that came through here, had now started to ask for you specifically. At first, this had been a blessing, as it meant that they were a lot more cooperative, thus making things run far smoother than they would have otherwise, but rather quickly it became apparent that having their favour, also came withâŚ.. complications.
Namely the fact that the vast majority of them, were now determined to flirt with you.
Signing off on the last of the paperwork that the demon needed, you handed it over to them with a soft smile, wishing them a good day and desperately trying to ignore the heat in your cheeks and the pout on their lips as you failed to react to their rather obvious flirting. Swallowing thickly, you watched as they slipped out of the room, taking a moment to cover your burning face and regain your composure, before clearing your throat and calling out for the next person to enter.
You only barely managed to bite back a groan of dismay as a familiar sly smirk came into view, mentally steeling yourself as you prepared to deal with the coming onslaught of smooth compliments and offerings that were sure to come from this particularly determined fae.
This was definitely going to be a very very long day.
