Thoughts of a girl

Well. Life gets busy, and that’s a fact. If you're like me, you want to do everything you can. I’m currently in 3 different organizations, one of which is 4 meetings a week, and the others have scattered meetings, and enrolled in 16 hours. You should see my planner. Color coded to perfection. I like to have things put down on paper so I can remember what I have going on, and how to effectively manage my time. I’m pretty good at it. Example: I’m studying for a test I have on Monday. It’s Tuesday... 

Even though I’m good at managing my time, that doesn't mean life doesn't get stressful. As a personal mindset, I try to remain positive. “Just get through this. You can do it. Once it’s done, you have this fun stuff to look forward to!”. It’s pretty helpful. However, it’s human nature to get stressed out every once in awhile, and my obsessive planning and color coding can be my downfall. I start to look at all the different colors in my planner, signaling what’s to come in my week, and I begin to panic. How on earth can I do all this? Can I manage without having a breakdown? What on earth. And I begin to hyperventilate, withdraw into myself, and go from happy go lucky Gabs to stressed out, quiet Gabs. Quite the turn around. 

But you know what I’ve realized? There’s always people around you to help lift your spirits again. People who will text you to tell you you’ll be just fine. People to notice the stress, and help you out with something small that you needed to be done, but it impacts you in a big way. People to say “hey, it’s gonna be rough, there’s a lot to do, but we’re going to get through it.” We’re. That one contraction is powerful. We. Meaning there’s someone who is going to be there and tell you it’s ok, not only are you going to make it through, but I’m going to gel you. We. A team. I’m not going through any of this alone. On the contrary, I have an entire support system to help me get where I’m going, and get there with a smile on my face, and who will go with me to the finish line, and end it with a hug and a smile.
