Good Morning ! This has been a very long train journey because the first train never left the tracks, we had to change and the next one was delayed. So I am so glad I have always my knitting with me. At the beginning I was upset, I do not like when my train is late because I will miss my next conexión. But today I said, I cannot change the situation and adding anger does not help. So I kept knitting on this amazing test knit. Two hours later, I am arriving to my next stop for work. It is ok! I made a great progress on my project 😊 . Happy Sunday evening! I hope you are enjoying the rest of the weekend 😃 ! I have been busy preparing orders for @isalloni the last two weeks 😅, in addition to the day job, I got really tired and I could not knit 😩 . Now, I am enjoying quietness and I cast on this lovely Ystävä cardi by @jonnahoo 😍 . I still have wips, but I needed something fresh, something to bring back my knitting mojo 😊. I am using my Bluecap base 100% Wensleydale held together with my Swiss Kid Seda 77% Kid Mohair 23% Silk sourced from a little farm here in Switzerland ♥️ . This yarn is special because I dyed with walnut husks foraged by a dear friend she has a her walnut tree. This is in honor to her, since Ystävä in Finnish means Friend, so it is a perfect combination 👌🏻 . Happy Friday! ! It has been two weeks or so since my last post. After #eyf2019 I had to prepare for #syf2019. Without counting my daily job, for which I have to commute three hours a day 😅 . Total was the last day of #eyf2019 and is our last night in Edinburgh. I feel thankful . I feel thankful because I met new wonderful people, and gathered with friends I met last year . I feel thankful because, I was accompanied by my better half, and we enjoyed this wonderful place of the world together. I am so lucky to have next to me someone who understands and supports me and what I love . It was a special year. And I feel thankful because we are starting to see diversity, We are starting to see color as here in this picture of one of the street of Edinburgh . Honestly, I do not know why one of this houses is red unlike the typical stone color of the streets in Edinburgh. But it is so meaningful to me . Today was the #diversityandinclusion talk at EYF. It was a powerful and a very personal talk. I say this because I am part of the #bipoc community, and today I said during the session that I do not want to be treated different because of it. I want to be measured by character and actions and not by the color of my skin . I raised my voice, and I was treated kindly, I was seeking advice, and I was guided . The ones that saw my stories know that since this discussion started I felt uncomfortable. Even for someone coming from a Latin American country and living in an European country, the discussion made me feel discomfort. But today I was able to speak about it. Not behind the screen of my phone posting stories, but literally raising my voice and confronting my feeling. I feel relieved and I was enlightened . I am thankful for the opportunity to have a space to discuss about it. To the wonderful panelists and moderator @creativececi @jeanettesloan @sophiatron @labienaimee thank you for sharing, listening and advising. And thank you to @edinyarnfest for creating this space . I truly hope next year we see more diversity, more color, more inclusion. And I truly hope that more people in this wonderful community start seeing and acknowledging this diversity. . Happy Sunday everyone 😊 . Although it has been quiet here I keep knitting, and I recently finished my Naiad by @moonstruck_knits 👌🏻 . Just it time for @edinyarnfest !! So this is my festival sweater 🙌🏻 . I wasn’t planning on going until my hubby’s friend, a male knitter, asked him if we would go. He happens to be in Europe this time, so we said, let’s go 😁 . I hope to see you there and knit together. This year I could not get my hands on the knit night or Ceilidh tickets. Despite my ninja skills, I was not fast enough to get them. Nevertheless, I will be enjoying the festival on Thursday, Friday and Sunday!! ! We are flying out tomorrow and we will enjoy the city and the highlands the first three days 🐑🏞🏰🏔 I cannot wait !
