Each year on Gables Day, every associate company-wide, puts aside their normal daily work activities to volunteer in their region. Since 2000, Gables associates and vendors have contributed over 100,000 volunteer hours and $1,000,000 in goods and services. In 2007, Gables Day was dedicated to assisting several hurricane impacted neighborhoods in New Orleans. Gables was awarded the “2007 Community Service Project of the Year” by Multifamily Executive Magazine for the volunteer efforts in New Orleans contributed by Gables associates.

With Mother’s Day being only a few days away now, have you thought about what to get your special lady this year? If not, no need to fret! There are plenty of great gifts out that there that she is bound to love. Pinterest is all the rage when it comes to home and apartment projects. We at Gables Ponce wanted to put a DIY Apartment Fun Pinboard together of a few of our favorite DIY apartment ideas.

If you are unfamiliar with Pinterest, it is a virtual pinboard, that allows you to take any image from the internet and place it on a categorized pinboard. You can take any image from any website and add it to your collection. Let’s say you search Google for “Decorating Ideas" and you come across a website that has an idea you like, instead of doing it the old school way and bookmarking it, you can download the Pinterest bookmarklet, and add that decorating idea to your “Decorating Ideas" Pinterest board, to come back and view later.

Pinterest is also a great way for brides to plan their weddings. You can search Pinterest for "Wedding ideas on a budget" and you’ll get tons of images that match your search. When you click on an image, it will show you a how-to or where you can purchase what you are looking at.

Gables Ponce, Coral Gables' newest luxury apartment homes, celebrated our Grand Opening on July 2, 2013. The Grand Opening was appropriately named a "Night of Discovery", and what a night it was!

Guest were given a map of Gables Ponce and were tasked with visiting multiple locations including, Club Poince, Cafe de Ponce, 2 and 3 bedroom models as well as the luxury pool area. When the evening concluded, guests were encouraged to present their stamped maps to receive a special gift bag. The gift bag included information about Epicure Gourmet Market, another tote bag, and a bar of gourmet chocolate.

The event was jam packed with a mojito bar, salsa dancers, a fashion show, black jack tables, a guitarist, a new age photo booth, a pet lounge, cuban cigar rolling, an espresso bar and a desert room provided by Epicure Gourmet Market. Epicure is currently building a new location directly below Gables Ponce, and is scheduled to open later this year.

The event also attracted a lot of members from the press. Enjoy a few articles that highlight the Gables Ponce "Night of Discovery."

We couldn't be more excited to have Epicure as one of our neighbors here at Gables Ponce. The gourmet and European style grocery will be a great addition to the neighborhood.

Epicure will include a European style restaurant and café offering full service beer, wine and coffee bar. Similar to the operation at Epicure’s Sunny Isles Beach location, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night bites.

It's the first week of January and I already have broken my New Year's Resolutions. I want to drink less, eat healthier food, reduce my coffee intake and exercise more. Sounds like pretty standard New Year's Resolutions to me. I should be able to keep at least one or two of them.
