Gabriella Montez â Twenty-two â Student â Non-magical
Name: Gabriella Montez Nicknames: Gabi Age: 22 Height: 5â˛2âł Sexuality: Bisexual
Gabriella is a person who knows who she is and isn't ashamed of it. She's had her shy moments in her life, but for the most part, she is someone who can and will stick up for herself when the situation calls for it. She's mature enough to make the right choices for her own life and her future even if they might be painful.
She was always ahead in school, being labelled a genius from a young age, but she's also fairly athletic and talented at singing. Gabriella wouldn't let herself be put into a single box, because she has multiple interests and the passion to explore all of themâthe only problem is having enough time...Luckily, she's also pretty good at organizing her priorities and pursuing what matters the most.
Gabriella speaks four languages. She was raised in a bilingual home, speaking English and Spanish with her parents. Because she was always ahead of the curve in school and looking to expand her academic pursuits, she also studied French and German.
Her father actually died before she was out of elementary school, but he's the one who taught her to dance when she was a little girl. Since then, it's always been Gabi and her mom, and she's wanted nothing more than to make her proud.
She was always the kind of girl who was more comfortable with her face behind than book than under a spotlight, and when faced with performing in front a crowd, she used to have stage fright. It was singing with Troy that enabled her to break out of her freeze instinct whenever a situation like that would arise, because as long as she focused on him, everything else fell away. After spending more time in the spotlight as she participated in school musicals, she ultimately grew more comfortable performing in front of people, but she still attributes a lot of that courage to Troy.
She still has the T necklace Troy gave her when they were in high school, though she doesn't wear it anymore. Troy was more than just her first love, he was one of her first true friends, because before she met him and the others in their group, she had never stayed in one spot long enough to make lasting friendships. Sheâll always consider him an important part of her life in making her who she is today.
Gabriella doesn't really like working around Drizella, but she knows that the internship opens a lot of doors, and she has a lot of experience dealing with (and working for) those with difficult personalities. She spent enough time with Sharpay in high school to know how to let things roll off her shouldersâthat other people's attitudes are a reflection of themselves, not you.
Her favorite color is teal, her favorite artist is Van Gogh, and she loves pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
