Camp Fam as "Friends" characters
(If you haven't watch Friends, I recommend it a 100%!)
These two are the dino-nerds of the group, so no question there. Darius, unlike Ross, is not into dating anyone (or marriage) and doesn't like correcting people while speaking or outsmart others.
Darius is also better at listening to others' problems and helping them selflessly and with a more sweet personality.
Both from stable economical families and experts in fashion, they both love gossiping about romantic relationships. The main difference between them is that Brooklyn is self-sufficient, with multiple skills and abilities leaving fashion aside. Brooklyn is smarter than Rachel and is not (much) interested in dating guys, being more concentrated on her career (and her friends).
Both are disciplined, strong and self-sufficient; and amazing romantic partners. Yaz, unlike Monica, is not obsessed with cleanliness and is not especially good at cooking. She is, instead, an excellent athlete. She is also more sarcastic, serious and way less interested on dates (until she started dating Sammy and later becoming an official couple).
They are both extrovert and happy people (with family issues) with open minds, and always supporting others. They are animal lovers and vegetarian! And even more, they both have self defense skills. Now, Sammy doesn't have a personality as weird and unique as phoebe; she is more serious and with less weird anecdotes.
Both of them joke and make fun of the situation to deal with problems, uncomfortable situations or trauma; they also have a sweet and extrovert personality. They comfort their friends and help them as they can, always using humor as a tool to make them feel better.
Kenji, unlike Chandler, is always flirting with multiple girls successfully.
He also used to be a spoiled child, but he matured thanks to Darius and Brooklyn.
They are the strongest members of their groups. They are protective with their friends, loyal and understanding. They are also not very materialistic.
They are sweet, lovely guys. The main difference between them, is that Ben is WAY smarter than Joey and has multiple skills and knowledge (and that he is not always flirting/spending the night with girls).
Also, Joey can eat almost anything (he literally ate a pie with cream, jam and meat) and I think that Ben is the same (he can eat grubs and food from a boot).
Just like Joey, a lot of girls fall for him. Unfortunately for them, he has a girlfriend (Gia) and is very happy with her.
(For their backstories, I mixed their canon backgrounds with those of the Friends characters.)
Is a young paleontologist student, dino-nerd since always, that lost his dad when he was just a kid. He lived with his loving mom and his big brother, Brand.
When he was 12 years old, he met Brooklyn, who had just moved to California. Even when he was a nerd and her the famous popular girl, they became friends after they got stuck in the school elevator for hours. They became best friends.
Later, in high school, he met Kenji. He was a rich and smug boy that tried to flirt with Brooklyn. Emphasis on "tried".
After that, somehow, Kenji approached to him and SOMEHOW, got both of them in trouble, ending together in detention. Kenji's mischief ended being fun and, after breaking some rules (escaping class through the window, jumping fences to get private areas...), they became really good friends.
After Kenji's dad got arrested, his mom adopted him and they became brothers.
A few years later, he and Kenji moved out together with Brooklyn to an apartment in New York.
In the city, they became friends with their neighbors from front door, Ben and Yaz; especially after Ben saved them by putting out the fire that Kenji accidentally started on their kitchen.
He and Ben became also best friends, close just like Kenji and him (like three brothers).
Later, Sammy also moved in with Yaz and Ben; and not long after that, Ben and Brooklyn switched places, with him living with the two brothers.
Right now, he is studying Paleontology at college.
She was always the popular girl in school and high school. When she was ten years, she started a youtube channel that made her famous and change her whole way of life.
She and her parents traveled a lot to make more videos and when she was 13, she moved to California, where she met Darius at school, who became her best friend after they got stuck in the school elevator for hours and got to know each other .
Later, Kenji appeared and tried to flirt with her. She rejected him without doubt, but when he and Darius became close friends, she got to know him more.
They became good friends when he defended her from another boy who was obsessed with her.
She continued this style of life (focused on her channel, with millions of followers) for a couple of years more, until she got tired (exhausted) and, with Darius and Kenji's help, she abandoned the channel and decided to study Investigative journalism.
This decision caused a conflict with her dads, who didn't understand her change. For this reason, she moved with Darius and Kenji.
Later, they became close friends with their neighbors, Ben and Yaz. When Sammy joined them, Ben and her switched so she would live with the girls.
Her relationship with her dads still needs some work to do. Every time they visit, they argue because they think she could make way more money if she continued her channel, having a better life style. She feels that she is not enough for them.
Right now, she is studying Investigative journalism in the same college as Darius and Sammy.
She is the daughter of a divorced couple that fighted every time they were in the same room. She was practically raised by her mom and since she was young, she has focused on running.
She joined the athletics team and became a prodigy. She was always introvert and shy, so she didn't have a lot friends, mainly other competitors.
She broke speed records and began competing in state, national and international championships.
She also grew up with Ben, who visited Missouri on holidays every year and their mothers became friends.
One summer, both she and Ben were sent to a Camp in the forest in which the group was attacked by a bear. Because of this, Yaz and Ben separated from the others and got lost in the forest. They took care and comforted each other, but after a few days, they split again and she lost sight of Ben.
She managed to find the Camp and told the police that Ben was still alive so they could keep looking. (thanks to @camp-fam-4-life for helping me connecting this!😁)
After three weeks, Ben was found alive, but changed.
That experience bonded them together and they became best friends.
Her mom was always supportive with her passion for running, but became too intense and demanding, which gave Yaz a lot of anxiety because she did not want to disappoint her; but eventually this had an impact on their relationship. Wanting to have more space and leave athletics behind to focus on her psychology career, she moved out with Ben.
Later, they became friends with their neighbors: Darius, Kenji and Brooklyn. She had some issues with Kenji and Brooklyn at first, but they eventually overcame them.
Onde day, Ben came back home with Sammy, who didn't have where to live, so she moved in. Yaz wasn't really happy about this at first, because she was a total stranger to them, but they both ended up becoming REALLY close. And with Ben's support, she asked Sammy out and they started dating.
A while later, Ben moved with Darius and Kenji and Brooklyn moved in with Yaz and Sammy.
Right now, she is studying psychology.
She grew up in Texas, in her family ranch, with her parents, little sisters, grandparents and uncles. She has loved animals since she was little and is used to farm work.
When she was a teenager, her family signed a contract with a big company (Mantah Corp) to sell their meat, but Sammy did not approved because of the company's lack of moral ethics (including towards animals). When her family didn't listen, their relationship cracked.
When the company went bankrupt, the family ranch suffered too and Sammy blamed her family for their bad choices, while they blamed her for not supporting her own family.
Eventually she moved out to the city to study to be a veterinarian, but she had nowhere to live. She stayed at hotels and had multiple small jobs to pay for her studies (she even had to do panhandling a couple of times).
One day, she lost one of her jobs and couldn't pay another night in the hotel where she was staying. She collapsed in tears in the street, desperate and alone. Luckily, Ben saw her and immediately worried about her, even if she was a complete stranger.
He sat down next to her and listen while she let it all out. Ben, wanting to help her, offered her to live with him and Yaz. Sammy tried to refuse, but Ben insisted, and she had nowhere to go, so she accepted.
What was one of the worst days of her life, became the best and first day of her new life.
She loved living with Yaz and Ben. Ben and her connected like siblings and Yaz became her best friend... until they started dating, when she became her girlfriend.
She was also shocked when she met Brooklyn, who lived in front of them, because she was a SUPER fan of her old channel. She also became great friends with Darius and Kenji.
Eventually, they decided to switch, so Brooklyn would live with Yaz and her, and Ben would live with Darius and Kenji.
Right now, thanks to not paying rent, she's studying to be a veterinarian and has a small job at a pet clinic.
Kenji is the son of Daniel Kon, who used to be a rich, successful businessman. His mother died when he was little and his father always ignored him, so all the money he had, wasn't enough to fill the hole in his heart.
Even if he was born in Los Angeles, he eventually lived in one of his houses in California, where he met Darius and Brooklyn at highschool. He flirted with Brooklyn, and failed. But he did become Darius' best friend and a close friend to Brooklyn as well.
After Daniel opened Mantah Corp Co. and used illegal methods to gain more money and power, he was arrested.
With no legal guardians, Kenji was going to be sent to a foster home, but Mrs.Bowman, Darius' mom, decided to adopt him. He lived with the Bowmans since, until he, Darius and Brooklyn moved out together.
Later, they met Ben, who lived in front of them with Yaz, after he tried to cook something and almost burned the entire kitchen. If it wasn't for Ben's intervention, they could have lost the apartment or get badly hurt. They have been great friends since, and eventually Ben moved in with them, so Brooklyn would live with Yaz and Sammy.
Now, he is trying to be an actor, which was his childhood dream.
When he was really young, his parents got divorced after his father cheated on his mom with a man. To deal with the trauma of his parents fights and separation, he became obsessed with hand sanitizer, became terrible afraid of germs (and everything) and concerned about health. If that wasn't enough, in school he had to deal with bullies along with his irrational fears.
His father moved to Missouri for a few years, so every summer, he spend a while living with him. There, he met Yaz and, unexpectedly, they became friends.
When he was fourteen, to help him conquer his fears, his mom sent him to a Summer Camp. Luckily, Yaz was sent there too. After a bear attack, both he and Yaz separated from their group and got lost in the forest for a few days. They took care of each other and created a bond based on mutual trust and understanding. Unfortunately, they accidentally separated and he lost Yaz.
He survived in the wild (with what he had learned in camp and from what he had read in books) for three weeks, when he finally found people. The police services had been looking for him all that time, thanks to Yaz, who had found her way back and told the people he was still out there alive.
That experience changed his life and personality. He became braver, stronger, self-sufficient and... a little wild.
This even made him get into fights with his bullies, defeating and scaring them away once and for all.
He and Yaz have been like siblings since, going to each other's houses, having sleepovers, talking about romantic interests, etc.
He grew up a LOT and became really strong with the years, and eventually, he decided to become a firefighter, so he moved out and rented an apartment with Yaz.
His relationship with his parents is... weird. His mom is a famous writer and she's been on interviews on TV, which means she gets a lot of public attention. This affected Ben's privacy sometimes, then and now. Even so, she tries to keep him away from this side of her life.
His dad, on the other side, became a trans woman who performs as a Drag Queen in Las Vegas. This made things a little uncomfortable between them for many years, not because Ben didn't support him, but because Ben's dad different lifestyle was very sudden for his son. And the fights between his parents for both his custody and their money didn't help.
They lost contact for many years, but eventually, with his friends support, he will talk with his father again and they will resume their relationship.
After extinguishing a fire in Kenji and Darius' apartment, they became really close friends.
After a while, he met Sammy on the streets, who was homeless and desperate, so he brought her home with him and Yaz.
He helped Yaz for a long time with her feelings about Sammy, accepting her and encouraging her to confess her feelings.
Eventually he moved in with Darius and Kenji.
Right now, he works as a firefighter in the station of Hook & Ladder Company 8 in Manhattan.
