Hey hey remember I mentioned a while ago there was a SasuSaku art panel that I really loved and was itching to do the same for GaaSaku? Well, here ya go. 😳 Not terribly original, I know—all credits for the idea go to the original artist: @a___grrrl (whose Twitter account is no longer active?), I believe, according to my digging through the comments—but you betcha that if I see something that I like, I will GaaSaku-ize (is this a word?) it. 😏

Five years after the end of the war Sakura embarks on what may be the toughest, as well as the most enlightening and important, mission of her young life.

Here’s a snippet:

“Usually, when one says ‘goodnight’, one is implying that they will be sleeping soon after.”

Sakura jumped and turned to find Gaara himself right behind her, his arms crossed. She was surprised to realise that he had enough chakra control to walk on walls (she was painfully reminded of Naruto’s attempts at tree climbing) and she bowed to hide the embarrassed flush on her face.

“I couldn’t sleep,” she replied. “I thought I’d just have a look around.”

“And did you find anything?”

Title: Council Meeting

Pairing: GaaSaku (Naruto fandom)

Summary: He never looked so desirable… until today.

“With all due respect Hokage-sama, but what you’re proposing sounded beneficial only to your country.”

Sakura’s patience was thinning ever so slowly but surely. What was supposed to be a meeting for the upcoming chuunin exams had drastically turned into a heated debate.

“But Konoha would be a better place to host the exams since Suna’s heat would be unbearable by then.”  Tsunade replied with steel in her voice. No doubt irritated by the turnout of events.

The pink-haired kunoichi fisted her shirt in an attempt to control her temper. The meeting was grating on her nerves. It irritated her to no end that she wondered how Tsunade could control her temper. In her eyes, the council looked like punching bags waiting to be used due to their incessant yapping and arguing.

“Sakura.”

She turned her head towards the voice and leaned-in to hear Tsunade better. “Yes, Shishou?” she inquired; hopeful that the Hokage would have her ran an errand that would kick her out of the meeting room.

“Control yourself, you have to be here.”

Sakura tried not to roll her eyes at the comment. Control had been her mantra ever since she stepped foot outside of Konoha’s gates. She just returned from a month long mission when the Hokage suddenly remembered about the upcoming meeting for the chuunin exams held in Suna. Her tired emerald eyes could only widen as Tsunade wasted no time to drag her all the way from the Hokage Tower to the hot desert.

When she asked the older lady why she was needed for the meeting, her Shishou only smirked as she said, ‘Because the Hokage-in-Training wouldn’t know what to do with a council without Sakura-chan by his side.’ What she really meant was ‘The village needs an effective assistant-to-the-Hokage to keep Konoha running’.

Her brother-by-heart wouldn’t know what hit him once he assumed the Hokage position.

“Shishou… Why am I needed here again?” Sakura asked.

“Because this is part of your training to be the best assistant in the history of Konoha.”

I have one! And it’s really good, I highly recommend it!

Laughter bubbled from his student. “Do they wish the village to die in my hands that badly?” He directed his gaze at this teacher, mocking. “The Suna council is more foolish than I thought.”
