I didn’t hear the gunshot and know it was gun shots and I still can’t decide wether we were lucky or barely surviving Those feelings didn’t change me I stopped sounding the same when I realized Nothing ever even stayed But I still wonder what it would have been like to hear the gunshots and knot it was such Instead I spent 18 years fighting a war I did not understand

if I told you about how the way they talk about me you'd call me crazy I've learned to feel love even when the people around me turned their backs on me sometimes that required me to make myself smaller hold my potential in the palm of my hands instead of where they could see it just to get by.
