U-SIK INTERVIEW FOR DAZED
After the announcement of U-SIK quitting his soloist career, many fans wanted to know his reasons along many other questions they have always wanted to ask, and DAZED gave us the chance to send questions to their twitter with the hashtag #.DAZEDUSIK
Dated June 10th, Woosik had a personal interview in which he let us all invade his privacy, not censoring his answers.
Q: Fans from all over wanted to know your reasons for stop singing after two successful albums and songs, what do you have to say about this? A: I never expected to be a singer for so long, I think I got caught on the dream. I was willing to drop a few songs, not as a singer, just as a producer who somehow enjoyed to create his very own songs, but Sweet Life and Lucy got so much recognition and attention that I wondered “why not?” And I loved it. I really did. But I’m 28 now, I need to take care of myself, my health, have a stable life. I sadly couldn’t find myself at ease with my life projects and being singer- they contradicted themselves. So I decided I should quit. Afterall, helping others create their songs have always been my thing.
Q: So you’re going to be a producer from now on? A: Maybe, maybe not. I have yet to talk it out with MOUNT, I wish to be a vocal trainer, though. I want to help people find their voice and blossom it into the beautifulness it can get to be. Perhaps my job as a producer will be a sporadic thing- helping other producers, or idols. I don’t know yet, I can not answer this.
Q: Many fans have wondered whether you’re dating now, because you spoke in your SNS about being ready to “settle into something that fits your age”. Is love life projects related to this decision? A: Not at all, I’m completely single and so far I have nobody capturing my attention. I would never let love life get in the middle of something I have enjoyed so much during my life. As I said, it’s all about personal projects. All about maturing and moving on. Looking for new dreams, new things to do in life.
Q: Was it hard to create an album that you knew was going to be the last one? A: Very. It was a mixture of sadness with a bunch of happiness. I don’t know how to explain it, I’m just glad I was able to be loved and deliver my music to many people, yet I’m sad to be leaving- But proud of myself for letting go and moving on to new things. Q: Now random question are going to be asked. Favorite Food? A: Has always, and will always be, japchae and spicy kimchi soup. Spicy food are my favorite. Q: Type of girl you’d like to date? A: I like people with a bright personality, loud and funny. Since I’m quiet and a little boring, someone who’d make me smile and be talkative is what I need. That’s why I tend to go for younger girls, noonas are always more serious and I think a relationship of two serious people won’t be fun at all hahaha. Q: You have shared images of a cat with you, fans adore it. Mind telling us a little about your pet? A: Pochi? She’s my cute little cat. A friend found her and many of her siblings in a carton box and I decided I wanted to keep her. She’s very loud and loves to be around me. I adore her. Everyone should adore her, too.
The magazine also wrote “U-SIK is a very serious person but someone who likes to share his feelings without regret, we feel very grateful to share that time with him and get to know him a little more. We wish Woosik the best in his life from now on, and we would be glad to have him back the magazine with more of his awesome looks.”
The singer himself wrote on his SNS earlier today “Get ready for DAZED interview~ did you like my looks there? There’s more to come ㅋㅋㅋ !”
