50 Famously Inspiring Quotes About The Beach & The Sea
There is something to be said about oneâs experiences of the beach. For sand and surf, sun tanning and seashell collecting, the place where ocean meets land is a release for all things work entailing; a balance for all things in our day that take up our time and occupy our lives.
A âbeach lifeâ is what inspires the mission statement of my brand! There are days for me as well, however, where the nearest I am to a slice of paradise goes no further than being immersed in the work of presenting my product line with the pieces I share.
For those days when the ends of the earth, the smell of salt air and the sound of ocean waves are far from within reach, a collection of 50 famously inspiring quotes about the beach & the sea to help bring me back to its retreat.

Lesson 11: ěźëĄ, by (way of), (ě´)ë, or, and -ěě -ęšě§, -from -to
Today weâre going to be looking at the particle -ěźëĄ, which used in conjunction with nouns, and indicates the way or method by which something is done. It is used in situations to describe methods of transport, communication, actions done with the hands (eg: using a pen), and even parts of the body itself.
-ěźëĄ is used when attached to a noun ending in a consonant, except for ăš. -ëĄ is used for nouns ending in a vowel, or ăš.
For example: í + ěźëĄ â íěźëĄ ([written] by pen) ë˛ě¤ + ëĄ â ë˛ě¤ëĄ (by bus) ě§íě˛ + ëĄ â ě§íě˛ ëĄ (by subway)
Letâs have a look at this in use:
ë ě¤: ěź ě¨ë ě´ëťę˛ íęľě ěě? ěź: ě§íě˛ ëĄ ěě. Leo: Ken, how do you get to school? Ken: I come via subway.
But sometimes, maybe Ken takes the bus to campus instead. In English Ken would say he takes the bus or the subway to school. To express the word âorâ in Korean, you would use (ě´)ë.
-ě´ë is attached to nouns ending in a consonants including ăš. -ë is attached to nouns ending in vowels.
ë ě¤: ěź ě¨ë ě´ëťę˛ íęľě ěě? ěź: ë˛ě¤ë ě§íě˛ ëĄ ěě. Leo: Ken, how do you get to school? Ken: I come by bus or subway.
Yesterday, Ken walked home from school to his house. Itâs kind of far, and heâs super proud of this fact, so he wants to tell Leo.
The markers -ěě and -ęšě§ are used together to express the idea of -from one place and -to another. These markers are attached directly to locations.
ë ě¤: ěź ě¨ë ě´ëťę˛ íęľě ěě? ěź: ë˛ě¤ë ě§íě˛ ëĄ ěě. ë ě¤: ě, ꡸ëě. ěź: ꡸ë°ë° ě´ě íęľěě ě§ęšě§ 깸ëŹě ę°ě´ě. Leo: Ken, how do you get to school? Ken: I come by bus or subway. Leo: Ah, I see. Ken: But yesterday I walked from school to my house.
Thatâs all for lesson 11! Itâs simple right? If you have any questions please send me an ask!
Under the keep reading link, youâll find some words and useful phrases related to what youâve learned today. See you next lesson!

Lesson 10: ěźëŹ ę°ě/ěě go/come in order to do something, âandâ, and directional words
When you want to say you went to a location for a specific purpose, the grammar point ěźëŹ ę°ě/ěě is used to express this. The phrase is attached directly to the verb indicating the action that was performed in the location.
ěźëŹ ę°ě/ěě is used when the preceding verb stem spelling ends in a consonant, except for ăš. ëŹ ę°ě/ěě is used when the preceding verb stem spelling ends in a vowel, or ăš.
For example: Consonants except ăš + ěźëŹ ę°ë¤: ë¨šë¤ (to eat) â 먚ěźëŹ ę°ë¤ Vowels or âăšâ + ëŹ ę°ë¤: ěŹë¤ (to buy) â ěŹëŹ ę°ë¤                                        ě´ë¤ (to live) â ě´ëŹ ę°ë¤
Additionally, the location the action is taking place at is usually added between the action verb, and the final verb.
ěą ě ě˝ěźëŹ ëěę´ě ę°ě. I go to the library to read books.
Using these constructions, we can create sentences like the following:
ěą ě ěŹëŹ ěŹě ě ę°ě. (I go to the bookstore to buy books.) ë ě¤ ě¨ę° ë°Ľě 먚ěźëŹ ěëšě ę°ě. (Leo goes to the restaurant to eat.)
An important thing to note: Sentence tense is only reflected by the final verb ę°ë¤/ě¤ë¤, and not in the verb preceding it.
ěą ě ěŹëŹ ěŹě ě ę°ě´ě. (I went to the bookstore to buy books.) ë ě¤ ě¨ę° ë°Ľě 먚ěźëŹ ěëšě ę°ě´ě. (Leo went to the restaurant to eat.)
Letâs pretend for a minute you went to eat at the restaurant with Leo. Now itâs time to leave and you want him to hand you your scarf to you, but he doesnât see it. How would you describe where to locate it for him? This is where directional words come in. Today weâre going to look at six different directional words.
ě above, on, on top of ěë under ě in front of ë¤ behind ě beside, next to ěŹě´ between
Using these words and the location marker -ě you can tell him exactly where the scarf is.
ë ě¤: ě¤ěš´íę° ě´ëě ěě´ě? (Where is the scarf?)
ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Š ěě ěě´ě. (The scarf is on top of the bag.) ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Š ěëě ěě´ě. (The scarf is under the bag.) ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Š ěě ěě´ě. (The scarf is in front of the bag.) ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Š ë¤ě ěě´ě. (The scarf is behind the bag.) ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Š ěě ěě´ě. (The scarf is beside the bag.) ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Šíęł ě§ę° ěŹě´ě ěě´ě. (The scarf is between the bag and the wallet.)
Note that the location marker -ě comes after the directional word, not the location noun itself as it usually would.
Now for the last part of the lesson, letâs look at a sentence from above again.
ě¤ěš´íę° ę°ë°Šíęł ě§ę° ěŹě´ě ěě´ě.
Using the word âandâ to connect two (or more) nouns is very simple. There are a couple different ways to do this, but the suffix -íęł is generally the easiest to remember. Itâs attached directly to the noun, without a space like in English.
ë°Ľíęł ëšľě 먚ěě´ě. (I ate rice and bread.) ěŹě ěě ěą íęł ě°íě ěě´ě. (I bought a book and a pencil at the bookstore.)
Another easy way of saying âandâ is to use (ě´)ë. âëâ is used if the noun ends in a vowel, and ě´ë is used if the noun ends in a consonant.
ě°ě ë ëšľě ěě´ě. (I bought milk and bread.) ěą ě´ë ě 돸ě ě˝ěě´ě. (I read a book and the newspaper.)
The main difference between -íęł and -(ě´)ë is that the latter is more casual, so you often wonât find it used in more formal settings. If youâre unsure which to use, itâs always best to stick with -íęł !
Additionally, -íęł and -(ě´)ë can mean âwithâ instead of âandâ depending on the context of the sentence. Generally it is very easy to tell by the context of the sentence whether it is supposed to mean âwithâ or âandâ.
ë¨ěěšęľŹíęł ěí뼟 ë´¤ě´ě. (I watched a movie with my boyfriend.) In the case of a sentence like this, itâs unlikely that the speaker watched both a movie and their boyfriend, so we can conclude the movie was watched WITH the boyfriend instead.
ěŹëěě´ë ěźííě´ě. (I went shopping with my younger sister.) In a sentence like this, the only way it can be interpretted is the shopping was done with the younger sister.
ě´ě ë¨ěěšęľŹíęł ěŹě ěě ěą íęł ęłľěą ě ěě´ě. (Yesterday, I bought a book and a notebook at the bookstore with my boyfriend).
So bundling everything weâve covered in todayâs lesson, have a look at the following conversation.
ěź: ě´ě ë íě´ě? ë: ë ě¤ ě¨íęł ë°Ľě 먚ěźëŹ ěëšě ę°ě´ě. ěź: ë 먚ěě´ě? ë: ëĄëłśě´íęł ëźëŠ´ě 먚ěě´ě. ěź: ěâŚ. ě¤ěš´íę° ě´ëě ěě´ě? ë: ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ Did you understand? Check below to make sure!
Ken: What did you do yesterday? You: I went with Leo to the resturant in order to eat. Ken: What did you eat? You: I ate ddukbokki and ramyeon. Ken: AhâŚ. Whereâs your scarf? I guess Leo couldnât find it! See you in the next lesson!

Youâve probably been wondering about my semi-inactivity on Tumblr, and thereâs a perfectly good explanation to that lol. As a second-year university student, I have focused my priorities to my studies - so I hope you understand the lack of lessons and posts on my blog recently.Â
However, those of you who do know me well, know that I tutor / teach Korean for the Korean culture group at my university! These pdfâs are based off those lessons that Iâve taught. I hope you get a lot of use out of them!Â
You can print them off, share them with your friends - but I will kindly ask you to not take my work, remove the credit, and claim it as your own; please take advantage of the resources and not my work, as I tutor for free and have created free lessons for you all for the past year. Thank you for understanding.Â
