Duality

[She points to Aloden– Dear gods above, she is short.]

[Aloden has checked out until further notice.]

[That sure is Rem yelling very loudly except with Aloden’s voice.]

...Aloden? What’s wrong?

[…That certainly wasn’t her voice.]

[He gasps. He can sense again... And he hasn’t even noticed any caveat.] 

[Dancing with friends is fun! Even if the dance you’re doing could be potentially very dangerous. She’s completely forgotten about that part.]

[knock out 3pm]

[Dance time. Alad’s gonna have quite the event to wake up to.]

[Dances with cute friend. He loves this cute friend.]

[She handed Alad the book.]

I’m going to sleep.

It wasn’t dangerous, though. It just turned them blue.

There’s a duet dance in this book that doesn’t have a description.

Let’s do it. Right now.

“Ah… You should rest. A lot of the dances can be done without a partner, so I’ll be alright if Aloden doesn’t want to dance.”

“...I’ll sit the next one out with Alad, ‘cause I know what to do.”

“…Oh, uh, so… Do you wanna keep dancing, or…?” In all honesty, se was a little tired, but dancing usually came first for her.

“...No, but I feel like it might.”

Tiny happy Rem noises. Dancing and hand-holding made this a very good day.

Small happy (but surprised) Aloden noise.

Oh no. Were they okay? Did she do something wrong? Very gentle hand holding??? The light circle becomes brighter, but Rem is too gay to notice.

“...Ah.” The tiniest of Aloden noises.

She’s just gonna. Hold Alad’s hands and continue to be gay. The light circle would probably stay until both she and Alad left the circle, or for a while, at least.

New, exciting magic to study! This hadn’t happened since the time that he’d persuaded a caravan to trade quite the quantity of avocado for a pair of cursed socks! He’d accidentally destroyed the socks trying to analyze the curse, but it’d been something new and exciting!

The music slowly faded out, but the light stayed. Rem stopped when the air became silent, and there was no hiding the blush on her cheeks. Alad was a very good dancer. A very good and very cute dancer.

...Aloden had stood, walking around the diameter of the light circle, trying to compare it with familiar magic, but it was rather new - well, it bore similar hallmarks to some of the lights that he’d cast. He didn’t even notice that his younger sibling was gay.

Rem was doing very well at keeping up with the music. She was definitely accustomed to this speed, though the fact that she was so absorbed in the dance kept her from seeing the circle of light surrounding both her and Alad, along with Aloden.

Magic...! Actual, tangible magic! Aloden was bouncing excitedly.

“Right!″ She took their hand, and the dancing began. It seemed as though the faster she danced, the happier she was.

They were doing best to  keep up with the pace, but they were also very happy to be dancing - and doubly so to be dancing with her!  Most of the dances in their clan had been fast, but not quite this fast - they were pretty sure they’d have to sit the next song out, despite being in rather good shape.

“…Alright…” She gently took the book, squinting at the incantation. “…Dronaren a Tael.”  More music begins to pour from the book.

“That is pretty fast. Let’s go!” Alad offered her their hand.
