A woman once told Seamus that fire ran through his veins, and he thought perhaps that Firewhiskey was more apt. A rogue, a rover, a rambler; there wasnโt much about Seamus people didnโt know. Between his easy smiles and quick fists, he was an open book, and if you asked there wasnโt much he wouldnโt tell you, though most of his opinions were straight from his motherโs mouth. Seamus has never put too much stock in politics. He can still hear the gunfire and the reports of deaths on the border, the Troubles never quite leaving him no matter how far he strayed from home, no matter how many other wars he fought. Politics always ends in warfare, thatโs what heโs learned. Hermioneโs doing a cracking job, in his opinion, doing the best with what she has, and if anyone asks about his political leanings, thatโs what heโll tell them. What he wonโt tell them, however, is that heโs starting to feel scared. He started buying from the syndicate in the early days of running the pub. The Leaky Cauldron was his biggest competition, so to compete he bought booze from them, stronger proof stuff and self cleaning optics, at first, but it went on to imported alcohol, bought on the sly to avoid the duty fees he couldnโt afford. It stayed that way for a while, and business was booming as he hoped, so when the Syndicate asked him to sell a few illicit substances to a few select customers, he agreed- he wanted to keep things sweet and he was only the middle man, and it had brought no trouble to his doorstep as long as he was discreet. However, in the wake of the Quibblerโs expose, heโs finding it harder to say no, and despite his allegiance to his classmates and friends, heโs sitting on the knowledge that more than one piece of muggle technology has passed through his pub, and hopes no one finds out.ย
