IM NOT GONNA BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE OLD LIGHTS EMBLEM?????? NO
I feel like not enough people realize that people under enormous strain act really really fucking Weird
things humans are known to do when stressed:
-hallucinate
-cry over what seems to be small things
-become furiously angry over what seems to be small things
-hit a self destruct button over and over again
-lose all sense of reality
-becoming straight up unable to communicate
-view every situation as life or death
-experience delusions/become vulnerable to irrational worldviews
-perceive hostility where none exists
-become extremely nauseous and/or throw up
-stop engaging in sleeping/eating/basic hygiene
-stop processing sensory input
-process way too much sensory input all at once
-lash out at others/themselves
-and more!
being able to recognize when a human (ie. you or another person) is so stressed out they cannot think clearly is VERY important for conflict resolution and diffusing emotional crisis. highly recommend trying to train yourself at being able to recognize that state of panic- there is a point in which logic and rationality is useless and you have to address the underlying emotional issue first. knowing that saves everyone a lot of pain and struggle.
you know what i'll share it bc she was a fun sculpt
what even happened during development that caused telesto to be like that
The projectiles are coded as their own entities in the same way that enemies are, which is probably responsible for like 90% of the problems
oh my god its sentient

i dont know what it is but something is really funny about the fact that the default for most creatures is just making noises at each other and hoping the other understands
i wanna talk about this shot
if forum signatures still existed this would be mine
God fucking damn it
@loss-detector

Ok i know i said i was gonna semi-retire SWHFTT but a few ppl told me they look forward to sunday comics and i feel kinda bad.
i have like, kinda an idea? To keep the low effort comics going, but it might be a community feature thing. Community submitted Guardian confessions?
Guardian Confessions. Would you read
Yes totally
Just sunset SWHFTT
If i do this i'll absolutely need your help. And i mean like, continuous submissions of game moments, fun memories, highlights and whatnot. Id have a form set up for it.
Any takers?
I might have a bold plan to crash the servers.
We all equip the ✨ TELESTO ✨
The day before the update everyone that has it equip it to their Guardians.
Use it's curse to our advantage.

THE KINDERGUARDIANS!!!
I was so focus on those of us that have been in this space forever, I forgot about the New Lights.
There's still so much for your Guardian to do. Yeah Bungie after June 9th MAY NOT write anymore stories for the world of Destiny, but you can still write your own. That's what so wonderful about this world.
The world is still there. The servers aren't shutting down, and there is still plenty of Guardians running around.
Play, go make stories, become LEGENDS!
This must be how Ryland Grace felt when his kids asked about the sun. Destiny is our Sun and Sony is Astrophage.
"It's thinking"
When I was probably too young to use computers, my dad showed me how to use our Windows 95 PC. He opened up Paint, let me doodle for a while, and showed me how to save. He closed the window, pointed to the icon we created on the desktop and said "Click on that twice and you can look at it whenever you want."
I double-clicked, but my masterpiece didn't appear. Nothing but a tiny monochrome hourglass. I was confused, a little frustrated. I said "Where is it?" and my dad pointed at the humming computer tower and said "It's thinking." Not a second later there was my art once again.
I can not overstate the impact of the idea that the computer is often just "thinking" and needs a second. This single-handedly made me so much more patient with technology in general.
I remember having a friend over and showing her Barbie Fashion Designer and whenever there was a loading screen she would furiously mash the left and right mouse buttons until the next thing happened. And this was the first time I experienced empathy for the machine. Like, I knew logically that computers were objects and not people, but seeing the impatient clicking still felt like I was watching someone getting hurt - being abused simply for needing more time to think than a person might.
"What is wrong with you?" is what I wanted to say. But I also figured she was never taught it that way. In a sense, my dad was also teaching me to be patient with people when they don't understand something. So I just said "We don't need to do that, it's just thinking."
She continued to mash the clicker on every loading screen.
As an adult when things go awry on the computer I find myself handling things a bit more thoughtfully, entering problem-solving mode and even asking my PC gentle questions aloud. Going into task manager to see if maybe it just has a lot on its plate, or if some app is bothering it, or if maybe I've given it a big ask just now. I give it room to breathe, I clean it, I shut it down so it can rest.
I think it's good to personify your belongings a little bit. Love your tools and they'll love you back, so they say. I've burrowed myself into a social life, line of work, and set of hobbies which are so very dependent on the machine - yet it too depends on me. So I show it some respect. After all, it's only thinking.

youve almost found me
"this suicidal person is so stupid for believing nobody will miss them. i remember people i haven't talked to in years lol"
ok but are you present in their life enough for them to realize that?
we can all say after the fact that we cared for our friend who committed or disappeared or whatever. we can even mean it when we say it. we can think about them. but did we ever act on it? did we ever even make them feel like we were there? "nobody would care if i disappeared" is not a literal phrase. of course they know that people would care. what the phrase conveys is a deep sense of alienation that can't be mended by implying stupidity on their part.
