i wouldn’t think that trans activism wasn’t that annoying if every time i come out as lesbian people wouldn’t immediately make it about trans people. and “people” can literally be everyone: lgbtq+ people no matter if they’re activists or not, trans activists no matter if lgbtq+ or not, “cis” men no matter if they are leftists or not. i remember coming out as a lesbian to my gay friend and he asked me if i would date a trans woman. i talked to one of my “lesbian” (atp i don’t believe she’s one of us lmao) university acquaintances that i would love to meet other lesbians in our university and she started talking about how she doesn’t call lesbians women, but “people” to not exclude any trans people and she wanted created this kind of environment with me (she is an activist). i come out as a lesbian to a cis man who isn’t “woke” at all and he asked if i would date *random man we both know* if he was a trans woman. he could’ve just asked me the same question without putting “trans” before it. he also said that he would date a trans woman even though he says he is a 100% straight man (LMAO). like, even conservative men are grasping and accepting the concept of a man being a woman more than the idea of a woman being treated as a human being and not as an object or a concept. I WONDER WHY.
i am 100% sure that nobody would give the same energy towards gay men. so yeah, being an actual lesbian is still treated as some sort of disease but the saddest thing is that now it starts from the people that are supposed to be our allies.
