It is as if [the Chinese] invite the world to join their celebration of the return of an ancient civilization, long oppressed and humiliated by imperialism. There is no doubt that the extensive development of the productive forces was not limited to snatching hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and starvation; it assured both their individual and national dignity, and has allowed them to greatly expand their horizons by looking at the vast country they’re part of and, beyond it, the whole world.

The peasants do not fear communism. The workers do not fear communism. They have nothing to lose but hunger and chains.
