I've been playing a lot of the Reignited Trilogy lately, but I must confess I'm not the fondest of the design directions they took with Ripto and Elora. Wanted to try my own shot at a design take while still incorporating the aspects of Reignited that I do quite enjoy.

My favorite thing about Monster High G3 is when reviewers get information blatantly wrong even though the show does a decent job of explaining things. //Sarcasm

I think the issue (for me) regarding Jax's character writing is that Goose says one thing but the show itself will present otherwise. Goose says you shouldn't feel bad for Jax and yet in the show there's an air of tragedy around her that is clearly attempting to be showcased which in itself isn't a bad thing. However, Jax's actions eventually just outweigh that sense of tragedy. It reaches the point where feeling sympathy just reaches its breaking point but that sense of tragedy just keeps going.
Anybody else remember Phineas and Ferb Across the Second Dimension? Our big bad, Doof-2 (Let's just go with Dictator Doof) reveals his "tragic backstory" and what does this serve in the narrative? Two things.
A ) It's a joke. Dictator Doof's backstory of losing a toy train and then going on to become a monstrous dictator is a joke. It's so absurd that it's humorous. But also...
B ) Shows just how truly awful of a person he is and they do not shy away from that from how everyone else in the narrative treats him.
TADC's narrative feels like if they tried to take Dictator Doof's "tragic backstory" of losing a childhood train and going on to become an oppressive power-hungry dictator and played it completely straight to the audience with the expectation to feel sympathy in response.
I don't see much in terms of MH G3 AU's so here's a little thought bubble.
Catarina fails in getting rid of Selena so Clawdeen grows up as the older sibling who's been fully aware of her monster heritage from the start and the fact that she's the heir to the were-beast crown. All of this accumulates into Clawdeen being a bit of a brat when she ends up going to Monster High. She's able to get Draculaura and Frankie under her thumb to run the school how she wants too.
Draculaura listens and does what Clawdeen wants but doesn't actually like her and as such does try to figure out ways on getting Clawdeen expelled.
Frankie's not entirely sure on who's side they're on in all of this, they just enjoy the company, so one moment they might listen to Clawdeen and then the next they're listening to Draculaura. The other two will also try to win over Frankie.

Shout out to all the G1 fans who are normal and not completely insane ready to throw threats at people over a G2 and G3 doll or their design. Sorry you get lumped in with the crazies.
TADC's issue is that mid-way through an interesting show with interesting characters it became the authors' vent post instead of being one or the other.
I'm surprised that there isn't like an indie horror game that combines Monster High and Scooby Doo together to create its own thing.
Like a small group of mystery solvers get run off the road, most of them dragged away except for our main character, and MC goes after to get their friends back only to end up at a creepy-looking school......that is definitely not abandoned like what this group usually deals with.....and now with the terrifying notion of it housing killer monsters.
And now each level has to deal with handling a specific monster (A Draculaura-inspired character, a Frankie-inspired character, etc.)

How it feels watching the character you didn't care for slowly absorb the whole show at the expense of the other characters who were actually interesting dying off screen and still managing to be the focus :
Thinking about them and I'm so curious as to what kind of relation these two are going to have. To some degree they must be working together but on what grounds? Is it a mutual partnership? Is Ales serving as a minion? Planning on trying to betray our new big bad? Do they have the same end goal so they're working together??
And then there's the fact all of legend's bosses have been given this corrupted feel to them.......

It's horrible but also kinda funny how this piece of trash lady (Affectionate) is singlehandedly responsible for the Wolf family's issues.
If not for her Clawdeen would've had a mother and brother to lean on for support while growing up. Who knows how different her life could've been.
Everytime I see hatred for the G3 cast, it makes me love them even more.
They could never make me hate you G3 Clawdeen, Lagoona, Ghoulia, Heath, and all the rest of these sillies. They're precious.

Silly and horrible monster headcanon I want to share because why not.
Monsters have a 'super adrenaline' mode that more or less makes them go feral just for a little bit. Mostly only kicks in during life or death situations or when someone else is in such a situation and they need to act quickly to help them.
My personal headcanon for why certain G1 characters like Kieran or Holt don't appear in G3 is because at some point Lagoona just ate them before they could introduce themselves.
