Some fail to deliver exactly the promised tool described. But they are all nifty inventions nonetheless. There are 11 in the series, but the 11th, force-field, is ludicrously misleading; calling forcefield an anti-missile missile system is all but true.

These reflexions are never far from my thoughts

Social control is the whole set of technics that allow to a society to function according to the fullest extent of it philosophic drive. Individuals are then agents as much as subject. Every interaction became the expression of the social paradigm, and none of the possibilities offered by reality are envisaged without the perspective of the group drinving your urges and appreciation of them

Don't forget that it's better done through positive reinforcement
