I thought it was awful. Why does he have to threaten Sherlock with violence all the time?

Perhaps it’s thought to be ridiculous because SH was a man who could unbend a poker with his bare hands - so no chance of JW punching his lights out?

Okay, that sort of makes sense but still doesn’t explain why John threatens to punch Sherlock who’s been shot by John’s wife. A Sherlock in pain. I mean, I know he threatens to kill Sherlock in HLV but do they have to keep making him so horrible? No explanation whatsoever to any of his behaviour. *sigh*  

It’s a Mofftiss convention: John is always threatening to punch Sherlock. Are they trying to say that John is an extra-stern father figure?

I think it's because Sherlock just had what seemed like the first reawakening and so is imagining John being angry at him for using again and its such a strong though that it breaks the illusion of the time period.

I will backup every theory saying Moriarty is alive, even if that would mean Jim was saved by the mysterious John’s potato or drugged Sherlock on the roof and flew with Sebastian to Carribean.
