Fuck Yeah Weird Bikes

Man, having the seatbelt debate in 2023 except it’s over bicycle helmets? Did not expect this to be the discourse, I’m gonna be honest.

While bike helmets do protect, the majority of bicycle collisions that require a helmet to prevent damage involve a car. Bike helmets are a proportionally small part of the bicycle safety debate, the largest is reckless cars, and everyone focusing on helmets is essentially victim blaming bicyclists when the real problem is cars. It’s fine if you think everyone should wear helmets, I wear a helmet and you should do, but if you are wasting breath fighting for helmets instead of fighting for bicycle lanes and dividers and other things to keep cars from hitting us then you are completely missing the fucking point. Stop bitching at someone if they don’t wear a helmet and instead bitch at your legislatures that prioritize cars over bicycles and pedestrians. Cars are the problem, not helmets, get your priorities straight.
