MCU Theory: Thunderbolts

What if instead of being part of the Sinister Six in the MCU, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is actually introductory to the Thunderbolts. Consider that the film comes minutes after Avengers Endgame and what if the Avengers actually don’t survive it. Then as in the Far From Home trailer Fury or Happy states to Spidey “You’re all alone…” Now out comes a new hero in Mysterio! Soon these “new heroes” start popping up around the world and eventually unite dubbing themselves The Thunderbolts. They gain the trust of society as well as the government. So now Spidey and some New Avengers (or possibly Young Avengers) will need to rise to the challenge of these sudden replacements.

a little while ago i looked up the heights and weights of the dark avengers compared to the person they were impersonating and did a little comparison doodle.

Ghost and Moonstone try to make an impression on meeting with the guests - Avengers Academy students and teachers. With poor results.

THIS is Eddie Brock. He became Venom after bonding with the symbiote that Spider-Man abandoned, and has jumped back and fourth from being a villain to an anti-hero, even briefly taking on the identity of Anti-Venom.

THIS is Mac Gargan. Formerly the supervillain The Scorpion, he bonded with the symbiote in an attempt to, of course, destroy Spider-Man. He was a member of the teams the Thunderbolts and the Dark Avengers (yes seriously), impersonating Spider-Man during the latter. Currently the symbiote has left him and he’s going by Scorpion again.

THIS is Flash Thompson. After losing his legs in the army, long time supporting character Flash became Agent Venom as part of a government project that restored his ability to walk. He’s been a member of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and unlike the other Venoms, has been unambiguously heroic his whole career, though he does sometimes struggle with the symbiote’s more violent urges.

So the thing about only buying things that are Thunderbolts related is that while 90%of the time it works great and keeps me from getting stupid shit, that other 10% of the time I walk out of a random Walgreens (a drug store in the US) with these two underachievers in tow.

My goal for them now is to build his couch from the comic and pose him and the other guys on it with Janet in the back, carrying a stack of binders.
