If you are interested in physics, considering studying physics, or want to get an idea of of what type of work physicists do, I would highly recommend these books as a starting point. They won’t teach you everything you need to know, but they will give you a simplified version of the basic principles, and they won’t take up much time or money in the process. I purchased all of these books at a typical bookstore for a reasonable price, which–in my opinion–is much better than buying expensive textbooks before you’re sure you will even be studying the subject. (Also may be useful to sci-fi writers!)
