Isabella Blow at the opening of the When Philip Met Isabella exhibition, 2002
When I was 22 I was introduced to Karl Lagerfeld by Isabella Blow and she thought she was doing him a favor.
Philip Treacy
She was a great champion of young people. She came from the establishment but she was a punk at heart. Her love was talent, rather than money. Her ethos was beauty and elegance. And her encouragement was rare.

Thank you for this tumblr. There are quite a few images, I had never seen - and I have followed her for a long time. It´s clearly a labor of love, and it shows./Anne from Denmark

Highlights from Daphne Guinness’s forthcoming fashion auction
Ahead of auctioning off 100 pieces in June, Christies have revealed exactly what wealthy fashion collector Daphne Guinness has cleared out of her closet.
Money has never been an object to the glamorous Daphne Guinness. As an heiress of the Irish beer-brewing dynasty and ex-wife of a shipping magnate, her bank balance has allowed her to revel in all the high fashion she could wish for. But even she is running out of space, and has decided to raise money for a new cause, The Isabella Blow Foundation, by putting 100 pieces from her wardrobe up for auction. Dresses, coats, skirts, tops and jackets - many acquired straight from the designers Guinness is on first-name terms with, will be auctioned at Christies South Kensington on June 27.
The auction house has today given a glimpse of what's going to be on offer, including a strapless "bubble dress" by French couturier Christian Lacroix; a white silk mini dress by London Fashion Week designer Christopher Kane; a silver minidress by her late friend Alexander McQueen and a selection of the heel-less shoes she is famed for wearing by Norita Tatehana.

Prices are expected to start from a reasonable £300, with the aforementioned McQueen minidress expected to fetch in the region of £15,000 - £20,000. Guinness's penchant for Azzedine Alaia, Gareth Pugh, Lanvin, Chanel and Balenciaga mean that the auction could raise around £100,000 for the charity dedicated to her late friend and magazine editor, Isabella Blow.

The lots will be exhibited to the public from June 23 - 27 inclusive, but those wishing to bid on a piece of fashion history might want to bear just how small the clothes will be - for the svelte 44-year-old was recently quoted as saying: "I'll eat when I'm dead."

Isabella was racked with self-doubt on some very acute personal levels. Clothing had an armorial property for her. It was a defense, a barrier.
