Hey, what about my homestead? Had a spirited chat with this fascinating fellow by chance at breakfast in a small town. You think you’re the man? Marty Raney is the man!

Calling all trans Evil Dead fans!!
(And if you're an ally, reblogs are appreciated)
(This post is mostly directed at trans men and transmasc people, but trans women and transfems are absolutely welcome to participate)
Hi, I'm Damien (he/him)!
I'm a small trans artist here on Tumblr and a huge Evil Dead fan. Maybe some of you have seen a few works of mine where I depict Ash as a transgender man, my favorite headcanon.
I have recently opened a YouTube account where I break down horror movies and analyze them through a queer lense.
I'm currently working on an Evil Dead essay because I want to analyze its deep connection with transness, masculinity, body autonomy and how this all resonates with its transgender audience. I also want to analyze how the online community took the character of Ash Williams and claimed him as a transmasculine icon, making this a popular and beloved headcanon among us.
I AM INTERESTED IN YOUR PERSONAL STORIES !!
How does the Evil Dead franchise connect with you as a trans person?
What makes you see Ash Williams as a trans icon? Is The Evil Dead franchise inspiring to you, in some way?
CALLING OUR ARTISTS !!
Have you ever depicted Ash Williams as a trans man in a fan art? Would you be okay with your art being reposted in a YouTube video with proper credits?
THINGS TO KNOW
Your stories are gonna be collected and used as "documentation" in a public YouTube video on my channel CultsOfDamien.
You can choose to stay anonymous or being properly credit with a name (real or chosen) or, if you feel like it, your Tumblr handle.
I am an Italian creator so your stories will be translated for an Italian audience but I guarantee you they will not be manipulated in any way.
If you want to help me with this little project, I invite you to DM me here on Tumblr, Instagram (auburngods) or add me on Discord (townncryptid). If you feel more comfortable you can send me an e-mail to [email protected]
Deadline is JULY 31
You can help me spread this post by liking, reblogging, commenting or tag your friends who might be interested.
Thanks if you took your time to read everything, I appreciate you groovy people!!
(Also, if you're a transphobe, your ragebait comments will be deleted and any harassment will get your ass blocked immediately. We don't take any shit here)

don't step on the momeraths
@GroovyBruce
"My mother, Joanne, loved the Western genre. She read every Zane Grey novel he ever wrote. I know because I drew stick-figure cartoons in the margins of her massive paperback collection. Westerns, by nature, are riddled with clichés – the steely-eyed, unshaven hero protecting innocent pioneers from brutal, unforgiving savages. With Reconcile, I tried to sidestep many of the cliché elements we've read or seen in Westerns for a generation. Reality isn't tidy or reliable. Reality has unpleasant circumstances that don't always resolve themselves like they do in the movies. In the heat of battle, the "good guys" and "bad guys" aren't so easily defined. In the sprawling history of the American West, I'd like to think a different kind of story was possible, and I hope you enjoy it."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST TO EVER DO IT, BRUCE CAMPBELL! this piece was inspired by my thinking a few months ago "hmm, i've drawn enough portraits of bruce, what would he REALLY want as a birthday gift?" and then of course, subsequently watching a ton of the three stooges and his friend group's super 8 films. "the blind waiter" was actually the first film of his that i watched outside of the evil dead series, which was my formal introduction. i was instantly captivated, and wanted to know everything there was to know about him. years later, i don't see that stopping anytime soon.
bruce is genuinely one of the funniest, most inspiring people i have ever witnessed — and ever met! my gratitude and reverence for him is indescribable, and i am so blessed to always have his work on hand and his presence in my memories. there is no one else like him in this world, in all his living cartoon glory! however, he would fit well among the stooges, and i'm sure he'd be pleased to. i am a massive fan of them as well, and have been so excited to finally try drawing them. this won't be the last time, you can count on that. keep shemping, bruce — watch out for errant pies today!
some close-ups for good measure. while i was drawing this, i was alerted that i was sitting smiling blissfully, front and center in the photo from his birthday post. took me awhile to calm down so i could finish a steady line again!!!
"I made it to 68. Still Shemping!" @GroovyBruce

it’s bruce campbell’s birthday so i’m making it everyone’s problem ‼️ it’s been such a crazy ride and i wouldn’t change it for the world. as much as i love all his roles for different reasons, my favorite part of his filmography has undoubtedly been discovering his super 8 films he made with his buddies before he was even an actor. they’re so silly, and you can really see the passion they all had so early on, it’s really fun to see.. i really love the little unexpected community i’ve gained through watching bruce’s stuff.. i even had the privilege of attending his movie premiere in his hometown of detroit earlier this month and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. so happy birthday bruce :)
I'm in my golden years now, so other subject matters appeal to me, generally more adult subject matter. You know, I'm entering the Hallmark phase of my career at this point, where I'm actually too old to do the "Evil Dead" stuff now, so that's why I've sort of gracefully bowed out of that.
Happy 68th Birthday, Bruce Lorne Campbell (b. 06/22/1958)
