Yukiko put the book she was looking at down and turned to Lasair.

“Yeah, lets get going.”

He gives a grin, leading her from the library out into what appeared to be a barren field in a courtyard with various wooden dummies.

“Ah’n t’is ‘ere is where tae new guards train, as one may guess,” he continued, strolling up to one of the dummies with a non-chalant rapping on its head with his knuckle.

“Come in pretty handy when yer feelin’ stressed.”

As if to prove that point, he’d whip around, and with a single slash, would gouge a good chunk of its “face” with his claws, his opposite hand lighting on fire before striking its “chest” in a deadly palm-strike that would uproot the dummy and sent it into the opposite wall where it’d burst into splinters upon impact.

“Ooooooo I could definitely spend time in here. Work on my aim with my ice, maybe even see if someone could spar with me.”

Yukiko pointed her right palm toward one of the dummies, which a large shard of ice would shoot out and end up leaving a big hole in the dummy’s “chest” and impale the wall behind it.

Yukiko looked around the room, occasionally picking up a book and looking at it. “Yeah that makes sense. Maybe i can learn something from these while I’m here.” 

“Well yer more t’an welcome tae use ev’rythin’ we have here,” he states plainly, picking up one of the used books. Flipping through the pages, he flaps his wings and takes off up toward one of the other higher shelves, placing it back where it goes.

He then promptly comes back down, landing rather softly for his size and build next to her.

“sounds like a plan, thanks for the offer.” Yukiko said as she looked around the kitchen.

“Which room is next Tour Guide?”

Leaving the room, he’d begin to lead her toward what seemed to be a huge set of double doors. Opening them revealed the room to be an immense library, with loads of books, scrolls and other artifacts.

“…Ah keep some o’ tae more wicked books under lock an’ key, but t’is here is tae library.”

“that sounds like a very noble goal to me. I hope you are able to accomplish it.”

“Just remmeber that practice makes perfect.”

“So I’ve heard! That’s why I’m going to keep trying no matter how many failures I encounter.”

“I thought I was getting the grand tour?” She said, following him toward the kitchen.

“And it’s just good to know where the kitchen is, don’t you think?”

He blinked a few times… It seemed he’d forgotten in the time it took for her apparently flirt to destroy his composure.

“…Aye… apologies, lass. We’re headed toward et as we speak.”

…Which in this case, apparently meant pretty much right then and there, as his kitchen’s large double doors stood apparent. He’d open them with ease, despite them appearing heavy.

It was a large room, with stoves, ovens and countertops, along with shelves and racks for spices and wines. This was truly a kitchen one would imagine being in a castle… 

He’d take a brief whiff, a smile playing on his lips. “…Seems tae chefs have dinner simmerin’… No wonder tae aren’ in here.”

“sounds like a plan, thanks for the offer.” Yukiko said as she looked around the kitchen.

“Well, I feel like everyone deserves to prove themselves.”

“What are you trying to accomplish?”

“It might sound a bit silly but I want to be a proper cleric so I can heal and help others. Making the world a better place even if just by a little.”

“that sounds like a very noble goal to me. I hope you are able to accomplish it.”

“Of course not, we only just met Day Dreamer.” She’d let him ponder on what she meant by that.

“So where’s the kitchen?”

He’d simply huff in response, her insinuation going straight over his head.

“I thought I was getting the grand tour?” She said, following him toward the kitchen.

“You’re the one that mentioned me coming up to your room. And hey, Angels gotta breed too. Why else would we have reproduction organs?”

“…Lass, if yer tryin’ tae imply ye wantin’ sumtin’ from me, at leas’ buy me dinner first…” 

“Of course not, we only just met Day Dreamer.” She’d let him ponder on what she meant by that.

“So the guards aren’t very friendly, so i shouldn’t talk to them.”

“Annnd you want me to come up to you’re room at night. Moving a little fast don’t you think, we only just met.” Yukiko giggled.

“THA’S NAE WHAT AH MEANT AHT ALL!!” he screeches, his face flushing in imminent embarrassment. Though, after his outburst,he just… crosses his arms, looking away bashfully.

“…Yer tae one wit’ yer mind in tae gutter, lass…” he grumbles, tail swishing anxiously. “…tae think an angel wood have such a randy mindset wood boggle tae mind.”

“I guess you’re right, I wouldn’t mind staying here while i monitor the evil energy. Thank you. Anything i might need to know about the room/castle? Other than the old lord attempting to return to the living world as a demon, of course.”

“Fer one, guards patrol tae castle in case of intruders. Come night, tae shadows may move. T’is is normal. Fae o’ tae shadows come oot at tha’ time tae explore. Do nae attempt tae talk er engage wit’ them, as t’ey have a right fooked sense o’ morals, an’ while t’ey won’ actively harm ye, t’ey may try tae make shifty deals wit’ ye. Ah’m nae sure how an angel may tickle their fancy tho.”

He looks up at the tallest tower with a wry smile.

“So the guards aren’t very friendly, so i shouldn’t talk to them.”

“I don’t see why not. I’ve always wanted to see the inside of a castle.” Yukiko began to walk towards the castle.

Yukiko turned back around towards him real quick.

“Oh and, don”t think I didn’t see that smile.”

She turned back around and continued for the castle.

…She saw right through him. 

What else could he expect from an angel though? She was likely observant as all hell. Either way though, she was on the move, and he’d come walking after her, easily able to keep up to the far shorter girl.

Though, looking her over, she did appear to give off a certain air of power he couldn’t quite place. If she was here to monitor his castle…

“…Ye kno lass, if yer goin’ tae be here keepin’ an eye oot, ye’ll need a place tae sleep, aye?”

“I can sense a persons energy or aura, and your energy didn’t match with your human appearance.”

“It’s good that we are meeting now though, instead of when i first came to the planet. Back then i was very hostile towards demons, but I’ve learned to give you guys a chance.”

“That is good to know. I’ve found many beings who aren’t very willing to give me such a chance when what I am is revealed. I am not fond of ending up in situations where I am forced to fight.”

“Well, I feel like everyone deserves to prove themselves.”
