Hans is a flawed and selfish character — one that views his sexuality as a way to move up in the world. He is reduced to (what he views as) this one avenue to climb up and advance socially.

Here, I use “femme fatale” to refer to the female character within a piece of media who uses her sexuality to manipulate the (typically, but not exclusively, masculine) heroic characters into states of vulnerability, turning on them violently while being revealed as an antagonist thereafter.

This to me puts Hans as a character in an interestingly genderqueer lense — and, consciously or otherwise, I feel I am not alone in this association. The amount I see Hans depicted as a woman (while other characters are not gender swapped) in various fan arts feels indicative of how this male character has taken on a typically female role within Frozen.
