@dior's Creative mastermind, Raf Simons produced an imaginative time-travel of a couture show, which riffed on the styles of the Flemish Masters, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Coming out of the Second World War, Christian Dior was inspired by all things glamour and excess. It was evident, Simons shown his fascination for this and constructed various elements of it throughout the collection especially referencing Dior's profligacy. The collection this yesterday morning at @lanvinofficial was vaguely Fifties with the bold attitude veering between rock star and haute bicycle messenger. Shilouettes walked the runway in a vision of leather and a variety of suit silhouettes from linear to zoot in an airy wool – nylon blend. Bold overcoats had the same breezy light take including paper thin, leather and cotton toile. Becoming the normal, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli brought out their “references” again this season. The house of @maisonvalentino based it’s show on the experiences of a world traveler by showing “a multicultural style concept”.
