A Very Groovy Mutation

” Genetics, was my main focus actually. I’m not sure what I’ll do yet. I think a teaching position and copious research into mutation. If you couldn’t tell, it fascinates me immensely.” He laughed, taking the last dregs of his drink in and ordering another through subtle mind prodding. The bartender supplied ‘on the house’ and he reciprocated with the proper amount of surprise.

” You have a slight twinge in your right shoulder, but you’ve put it almost completely out of mind. Chin chin.” he took a sip of his own tea, his eyes still sly as he looked over the cup at her. He quite liked being called Charley.

“Oh… I guess ye’re right,” Moira leaned her head to the left, rolling her shoulder.  ”I fell asleep working on some notes,” she admitted with a slight frown.  

Charles shook his head, " No, I've not had a chance." He looked at her over the rim of his cup, eyes narrow with amusement. He kept his nosy mind out of hers, but he couldn't help but give her brain a little nudge towards helping her tense muscles release. Mind over matter, after all.

She looked over at him and raised her eyebrow. “If you say so.” Antoinette looked at his arm and grabbed it while smiling back at him. “Lead the way, sir.”

Charles and Antoinette strolled down the street, arm and arm. Charles told her about his recent graduation and he enjoyed her summation of her new job. He held the door open for her at the coffee shop and the followed inside. ” I might get tea, actually. I hope the variety here is better than most. Some shops just don’t have too many options.”

Antoinette listened to Charles explanations and congratulated him on his Graduation, she also appreciated that he took some intrest in her job even if she often thought that it would give a bad impression. She quickly stepped inside and blew into her hands to warm them up. “Really? Maybe you go to the wrong shops? Teahouses are wonderful as well. What kind of tea do you like?”

Charles thought, humming as he did so. " All kinds, really. I like Ceylon Orange as of late. Have you ever had it? Twinnings is the master of my English heart." He placed a hand over his chest and laughed.

It's a Party-

Antoinette looked outside and groaned, trying not to show that she had no desire to go outside at all. Though she did not want to be rude since he did invite her, she gave a smile and nodded. “Sure.” She said picking her coat up and shrugged it off pulling hair out raising her eyebrow. “Trust me, I know how bad England can get.”

” Don’t grouse, love. The coffee will warm us in no time.” He offered her his arm and smiled a stunning smile. ” Shall we?”

She looked over at him and raised her eyebrow. “If you say so.” Antoinette looked at his arm and grabbed it while smiling back at him. “Lead the way, sir.”

Moira’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion.  Picking up the cup of tea, she leaned down, blowing on the hot beverage before bringing it to her lips and taking a sip.  ”Cheers,” she said before resting it back on the saucer.

“Wonderful. Shall get your coat? It’s a bit chilly outside. Nothing like England, but still it’s enough to shock the skin.” He moved to grab up his own coat as well, tossing the scarf around his neck.
