So I was messing around trying to conceptualize ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style games into a shared logic system using The Device Theory from the Deltarune fandom and its similarities with One Shot’s World Machine as a jumping off point and wanted to share it with y’all.
The games that I used are: Undertale (and UTY), Deltarune (ch 1-5 as of creating this), One Shot, Ib, Fran Bow, and Little Misfortune
Ideally, other games would work with this framework such as Omori and Yumi Nikki but I know next to nothing about those games so I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Please let me know if you disagree with anything here or have any ideas to add to this! It was fun trying to figure this out but I’m sure I messed up somewhere
Layer 1: The Real World
Residents: The Player
Self-explanatory- this is you and me and the reality that we live in
The Program is used to connect The Player to layers 3 through 6
Layer 2: The Code/ Ultrareality/ Primeve
Residents: Dr. WD Gaster, The Author, December “Dess” Holiday, and Morgo (/ any other Narrators)
They’re all from Layer 3 before falling out of reality and into this voidspace
Where the Program/Device and The World Machine were created
Layer 3: The Light World/ Pandora/ The Surface/ ‘The Real World’
Friend is either from here or comes here to lure children away
Where The World Machine is physically located
Layer 4: The Old World/ Senersedee/ The Underground
Residents: Prototype, recreations of almost everyone in Hometown (Papyrus, Toriel, etc), Martlet, Dalv, Starlo, Ceroba, Axis, Benjamin, Mr. Midnight, etc
The first of the worlds created by The World Machine- a reflection of reality contained within the program
Travelling here from layer 3 requires a physical gateway like a hole, tunnel, arch, or door
Monsters getting to The Surface in True Pacifist caused it to implode- it couldn’t handle the scope
This is consistent with why The Old World is so small- it would corrupt if it were any longer
Papyrus survives the imposition with the help of Sans and Gaster and becomes Itward
In the most spoiler-free way I can, where Little Misfortune takes place
Layer 5: The Dark World/ Ithersta/ Wonderland
Residents: Ralsei, Lancer, Palontras, The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts, etc
A world shaped by imagination and created from darkness- this layer is the only one that can be travelled to with intent alone, through dreams, and the like
If too many of these worlds are open at once, it runs the risk of destroying both this layer and layer 3
After returning from the Cyber City, the player used Noelle’s power to encase this side of Hometown in a preverbal crab trap. From there, it can continue its hunt using Kris as the weapon.
Who kills which residents of Hometown depends entirely on where they were when the snow first fell. Those closest to the globe's edges remain standing as horrific ice sculptures, killed when the town was encased. As it was the morning before church, there would be some out and about and others frozen in their sleep, if they slept with their window open.
Any other residents killed were done so by Kris, leaving them as more standard bodies bleeding out in the snow. Kris hunts at all hours of the day and vanishes for several hours to a full day at a time. Luckily for them, there is a tell. When Kris is about to go on the hunt, Noelle will kick up the snow around them, like shaking a snow globe. While this provides cover for the vessel, it also alerts the survivors that a hunt is beginning.
Hi! Sorry it's been a while! There are still a few characters that are a part of this group that I would like to design. Currently, I know I want to do Sans, Napstablook, MMM, and MTT, QC and her 3 niblings (>8 yro), Asriel, Papyrus, and Chara. I do also have Noelle and Kris! That one is actually done and coming soon!
Now that business is out of the way, I knew I wanted to put some focus on the other students. Two of their classmates are serial killers, one of their classmates is dead, their families are either dead or separated from them, and they just found out magic is real. Needless to say, their world is a little rocked.
Snowy ends up putting a lot of pressure on himself to alleviate tensions in the group and generally helping out where he can. As he is the most cold-tolerant of the group, he usually scouts, finally learning to fly with the supervision of MTT. This helps the ghost come out of his shell and they bond.
Temmie also ends up being a scout. As one of the smallest survivors that can be reasonably expected to contribute and relatively cold tolerant, she does a lot of scavenging in the snow that blankets most of town. She often gets paired with Snowy under Undyne’s semi careful tutelage.
MK is also a scavenger, working mostly in the forest with Asgore. They will usually pull the sled that the others pile wood and other supplies on. As a result, they develop quite a hero worship on Asgore, who they see as really cool, strong, and kind. Asgore also bonds with the excitable teen in their care.
Jockington mostly takes on jobs around the bases as he is a snake, mostly in supply counting and such. He's not trusted with the food and he is liable to sneak extra rations for himself and Catti, so he mostly takes care of other supplies when not helping his BFF out.
Catti is devastated by the possession of two of her childhood friends (and her crush shhh). As a result, she throws herself into learning as much about magic and the occult forces that caused this situation in the first place.
Ironically enough, she ends up becoming very close with Susie as a result, as she is the only one alive with actual knowledge of what the hell is going on. As time goes on, they become genuine friends as Catti sees how much Susie cares about other people and their safety, from Father Alvin to the bunny babies.

Initially, this was an 'everyone from the island (+ Euphrasie I didn't know she dyed her hair??) was part of the same family' au because it's fun to think about. I wanted to give Siffrin a twin ~with significance~ and we don't know much about Petronille, and she shares similarities with Sif, so I commandeered her.
The Twin's Backstory:
Their father, Orion, was the figurehead of a small town on the southernmost outer coast of the atoll not far from a larger trading port. He has several partners and ten children between the three of them not including the twins.
Their mother, Urania (not part of the polycule), was an astronomer at the capital's observatory on the inner island. She received a prophecy that foretold her having twins with Orion (as ya do) that would save the world. She does, giving birth to the twins Saiph and Rigel.
Saiph- quick footed and quick witted that they were- was taught to hunt and fight. Despite being their fathers second favorite child (and most like them), they loved astronomy and learning the studies of their mother. Rigel, favoring their mother in demeanor, was almost ignored by their father. When with their father's family, they instead found fascination in the sea and usefulness in helping care for their seven younger siblings.
When the twins were 12, Orion made plans to set out on an expedition with his eldest, Alnitak, and Saiph. He believed that their home was perfect and that he could spread this glory to the accepting and ever changing Vaugard.
The night before, Urania received a vision of his conquest and the violence this would bring to their shores. She prayed to the Universe, wishing for his plans to fail. Rigel, overhearing this, ran back to warn their siblings. They were too late, the ship beginning to set sail as they arrived. Rigel snuck aboard and hid until they could get their siblings alone to convince them to jump ship and maybe pelt their father in the face with their slingshot if there was time.
As soon as they were halfway to the shores of Vaugard, an unexpected storm raged, knocking Rigel overboard. Not long after, the ship with Orion, Saiph, and Alnitak aboard sank. With the rain, their memories of their home were wiped clean.
While their family arrived in Corbeaux, Rigel washed up on the shores of Bambouche. They were taken in by a lovely couple pregnant with a child of their own and named 'Petronille' after the beach they were found on. A few months later, Boniface 'Bonnie' Sohane Aglae Zabor was born.
The others stuck together to scavenge what they could remember of their goals for about a year until Alnitak, seeing how obsessive and unstable their father was becoming, ran. They made their way southward to Dormont's House of Change, seeking amnesty with the housemaidens there.
Attempting to chase their wayward child/ sibling down, they risked crossing a mountain range in snowstorm, trusting their crafted cloaks to keep them warm and their own survival skills to keep them together. Saiph, not familiar with the snow of a subtropical climate, slipped and fell far off a cliff, hitting their head on a rock on the way down, and falling into the snow. Orion didn't notice until it was too late to find his remaining child. He mourned briefly and moved on, vowing to continue their mission in their honor.
Luckily for everyone except the giant himself, Saiph survived.

Honestly, I don't have many ideas for the others looping.
Most of the ideas I have for the others are design/ theming based.
I wanted everyone that followed the change religion to have a theme that reflected that. Odile and Sif don't so there's are slower to change/ don't change within a human lifetime to reflect it.
Mirabelle is weather because it is the most visible and consistent form of change in nature
Bonnie is tide/ tidepool themed because their from a coastal town. I also get to crabify their head silhouette by making the hat the shell and the hair the claws
Isa is plant themed because the patterning of his clothes looks like tree rings. Plant cultivation is also the oldest and most intentional form of change in nature, which I feel is fitting for the character that embodied the theme of change the most.
Odile is gem themed for fairly obvious reasons: they're in her glasses and she says 'gem' like a swear several times (same with Bonnie and crabs and Sif's theme).
Siffrin is star themed. I don't think I need to explain this one. I love giving them long fringe and making his head + hat star shaped.

You showed in the soulless au that Frisk has some guidance in the form of Chara and Clover. Does it follow the story of Undertale red and Yellow for that and Clover gets revived, or something like that?

Clover’s… being? is split in 3: The Body/ Vessel is the Ferrymin, the physical soul/ Light is in Asgore’s throne room with the others, and the part of their being that I affectionately call their Name is the aspect of Clover that is following Frisk around.
After True Pacifist, the 3 parts would be reunited into a truly revived Clover
I wanted to give my take on a looping Mirabelle. Honestly, I love the idea behind her weapons so much that I’m considering added them to other looping characters like Sif or Second Chance!Core Frisk
Not mentioned: after Act 5, Mira would gain the ‘Hour (our) Hand’, a dagger that is more of a multipurpose survival knife for traveling with her family. “For when you let your family watch your six (back).”
