♡ the thumping of the cute little tail is a beautiful sound, ushering husk into wakefulness gradually. he would catch it to weave between his fingers as usual, but there's something sweeter in the morning about the rhythm. like the morning birds signaling him awake in life. no such thing down here beyond horrible screeching of hell birds. " you're the workaholic, baby, not me. I'd be happy doin' nothin' all day. "

♡ alas — the curse and blessing of dating leagues below his age bracket is the boundless energy. fizz is bright, filled with a light that motivates the old cat to maybe smile once in a while. like a damn sunrise. but on the other hand, the imp is already up and ready before husk has even bothered to roll over. a sunrise is beautiful, but it also creeps through the blinds of a dark room and always seems to hit you right in the eyes.

"I'm trying not to be!" But despite his best intentions, Fizz's instinct to stay busy was deeply ingrained. From the relentless pace of his circus days to the strict regimen under Mammon's watchful eye, his life had always been scheduled down to the smallest detail. Even now, free from those constraints, he found it difficult to simply relax. "But I really wanna go grab coffeeee, before things get hectic and you end up juggling a million highballs," he added, his excitement bubbling over in a way that made it impossible to resist.

There's a quiet, rhythmic thudding as Fizz's tail tapped against the mattress in contentment. He didn't mind the hotel at all. The past was water under the bridge, and Fizz was nothing if not forgiving. He bore no resentment for Husk's long-ago disappearance; he understood it wasn't out of malice or a lack of love. Hell was complicated, and sinners even more so, with their relentless soul deals and schemes. "It's probably nice to actually have something to do now, huh?" he mused. "I honestly didn't realize I was so popular with sinners too! At least now I can hand out autographs freely... Mammon would've skinned me alive for that before."

WELL,   SHIT.   HE   DIDN'T   ACTUALLY   THINK   FIZZ   WAS   GOING   TO   TAKE   HIS   OFFER   TO   COME   OVER.           hearing   the   sound   of   knocking   and   opening   the   door   to   one   familiar   jester   was   definitely   not   something   he   was   expecting   to   do   tonight.   even   if   he   didn't   show   it,   a   large   part   of   him   was   excited   for   this.   especially   after   learning   what   caused   the   rift   between   them.   how   it   was   neither   of   their   faults.

         now   is   NOT   the   time   to   focus   on   that   bucket   of   worms.   blitz   definitely   doesn't   want   to   the   sour   the   mood.   definitely   doesn't   want   to   think   about   any   of   that   shit   right   now.   .   .   or   ever.    ❝ Hey,   hey   !    Glad   you   were   able   to   find   time   in   that   busy   schedule   of   yours   for   lil   ol   me   !    ❞       hand   quickly   grabbed   onto   robotic   one   and   immediately   (   and   easily   )   tugged   him   inside.       ❝ Now,   I   have   two   movies   for   ya   to   choose   from.   ❞       he   grabbed   two   dvds   from   the   end   table   and   holding   them   up.       ❝ Now,   we   have   the   super   fucking   awesome   horse   movie   !    And   then   we   have   some   romcom   or   whatever.   I'll   let   you   pick   and   then   I'll   make   some   popcorn.   ❞ 

"I told you I was going to come, didn't I?" Fizz's tail wagged excitedly as he stepped inside the apartment. His eyes scanned the room, taking in all the little touches that screamed Blitzo: doodles, mostly of horses, scattered across the walls, and pictures of friends pinned up in a chaotic yet charming display. For a fleeting moment, he wondered if their relationship could heal enough for him to earn a spot on that friendship wall. The place was messy, but that was classic Blitz. It was messy in a way that reminded him of their shared trailer back in the circus. "I honestly don't have much going on anymore," Fizz continued, a hint of wistfulness in his voice. "Mammon used to make me practice every single day, and now it's all mine! I've been trying to figure out, you know, what to do." His words carried the weight of newfound freedom; his time and his talent were finally all his own.

♡ the sounds and sensations of the hellborn are foreign to the likes of him. bound in a cat suit though he may be, he is human to his core, the animalistic nature of this place still strange to him. but, of course, no less pleasing. human or imp, affection translates across species, and husk wraps an arm beneath fizz's butt to hike him closer up his chest for a better view.

♡ " al? showin' mercy? fat chance. especially if he knew I was havin' a good time instead. " husk half scoffs at the idea of alastor displaying empathy, a long dead expectation. no sense belaboring the point. better to enjoy the moment with the impossibly cute little creature leaching his warmth. he has plenty to spare. " besides, you'll want one of your silly drinks before long. "

As Fizz was nudged upright, the blanket slipped back, revealing horns left jagged and uneven, their surfaces still scorched with old hellfire burns. For a split second, muscle memory kicked in; his hand reached behind him, ready to tug the fabric back into place and hide the damage. It stalled halfway. Husk had never looked at him like it was something ugly, and that alone was enough to make the gesture feel… unnecessary. Instead, he settled for pulling the blanket tighter around his shoulders, a quieter sort of armor.

"It was worth a shot," he said with a small shrug, a faint smile lingering because he'd expected the outcome all along. He wasn't disappointed.

But I have a thing about equating that to human-like.

♡ damn, what a way to wake up. usually waking up is the worst part of his day, the transition from blissful nothingness to the weight of consciousness and the bullshit of the world around him. it sucks — but it's made a little better by the warm, sweet touch. it's the best alarm you can get in hell. it stirs a sleepy grunt from the large, resting mass, eyes still not opening, but the broad arm that keeps his bedmate tucked into his side pulls him closer.

♡ " c'mere, sweetheart, " husk mumbles, half asleep but with a faint smile on his tone. he lazily nuzzles in return, the bridge of his nose trailing against the soft skin on fizz's cheek.
