Grimsley is holding back a mocking chuckle as best as he possibly can. Heâs not even trying to be mean, but. âWhatâs the matter? Didnât think Iâd say yes?~â
He canât help it. Volkner looks so surprised! As if all of this wasnât his very own idea, heâd dare to say. Heâs kind of cute, though. But thatâs exactly the reason why Grimsley canât turn down the chance to tease him a little about it. Itâs an habit that has been with him for a long time and itâll take an even longer while, for sure, to brush it off.
On the other hand, and before he can see it coming, itâs his turn to open his eyes wide and stare into the other manâs also blue ones.
âKanto, ah?⌠Do you want to go to Kanto with me?â The region had an active Game Corner, so it always was pretty attractive for him to pay a visit to. But it was the part that followed after what shocked him. âHuh⌠I thought Flint was your friendâ
Now, thanks to him, the name of the fire-type Elite is wandering around his mind. Alongside with a few questions. Which he saves for when heâs finished shaking his head, of course. Also, after gesturing lazily to tell him his suitcase remained completely untouched since his arrival the night before.
âUnderstood. All professionalism aside, I suppose. Does that makes us⌠friends?~â
âBull. I knew youâd probably have a reason to say yes. But. Not exactly the most thorough when it comes to this sorta thing. Usually just wing it.â Why wouldnât Grimsley wanna go with him? He was pretty cool and casual, and could totally watch the guy bet his heart out at any gaming place. He knew damn well what he was doing suggesting Kanto of all places. He was certainly smarter than he made himself out to be.
âFlint is my friend, donât be mistaken.â He gives Grimsleyâs shoulder a playful yet somewhat forceful shove, then shakes his head.  âNah, just too excitable. Almost like I need a leash for the guy. Talks to random strangers too, so embarrassing...â He grumbles. Volkner knew better than to go to foreign places with Flint now. It was just too awkward and bothersome to reign Flint in sometimes. He knew Grimsley could be mischievous too, but certainly much lower energy than Flint could be.
âI thought that was obvious. I donât mind your company. You clearly like me for some strange reason. Thatâs friendship right? Or somethinâ else, but ainât gonna question that.â A blunt explanation from a blunt man. Was it supposed to be deeper than that?
