BACKSTORY ⸻

The Rinaldi Family was renowned not just within Halcyon Island, but their influence extended onto the mainland. Giuseppe built the family's reputation, Giovanni expanded it, and now Enzo was quickly climbing the ranks and making a name for himself. From a young age, it was clear the boy was gifted. Although his powers did not make an appearance until he was eleven years old, he was brilliant in other ways. His memory was unlike that of a regular child. He could recall numbers, patterns, events, and systems with ease. He excelled academically, although his father was not easily impressed. Not until their routine training day, where after countless failures, his son finally reacted. The training room cracked under the pressure of his power.

“Atta boy,” the older man smiled proudly. It was truly a gift, and one that his father kept quiet for many reasons.

From then on, Enzo's life changed completely. Private training sessions became a regular occurrence, each one more challenging than the last. Aside from developing his powers, Giovanni slowly began pulling him into the family business. Suddenly, Enzo was privy to information that had previously been restricted from him. He was tested often - physically, mentally, and strategically. Taught to be observant, to always be three steps ahead of the game, and, most importantly, that Rinaldis protected their own and remained loyal to The Current.

The quiet boy excelled before both his parents and the faction. When he wasn’t training, he was studying. His focus was initially Information Systems, but his father pushed him toward double majoring with Economics as well. Giovanni wanted his son to understand not only technology and systems, but also the way money, markets, and power moved throughout the world. His son simply being good was not good enough. He wanted to mold the best version of himself.

Upon graduation, Enzo started his own logistics company, originally meant to support his grandfather's business ventures. It didn't take long before it became one of the faction's greatest assets. Today, he oversees not only the legitimate side of the business, but also manages and expands the family's investments. At his young age, Enzo has already proven that he is more than just Giovanni Rinaldi's son - he is the future of the family name.

The Rinaldis were known for producing Dominion-Class mutants, each generation manifesting a different ability. Enzo's mutation grants him control over gravitational forces. Although capable of great distruction, his mutation is centered around precision, rather than brute force. This allows him to alter the weight, pressure, and momentum of people and objects in his environment. He has been training under his father for years, who drilled into him the importance of precision and perfection over everything else. His mutation is not one that can be used carelessly, thus he relies on strategy, observation and careful planning before using it.

After years of training under his father, Enzo has learned to:

Create localized pressure to restrain an opponent or make movement increasingly difficult.

Manipulate momentum to subtly alter the path or force of moving objects.

Reduce his own weight to improve agility, balance, and soften the impact of falls.

Exert concentrated bursts of gravitational force capable of damaging structures or overwhelming opponents when absolutely necessary.

Limitations & drawbacks:

His control weakens the more targets or larger areas he attempts to affect at once.

His mutation demands constant focus. Distractions, exhaustion, or emotional distress make maintaining precise control significantly more difficult.

Overuse often results in migraines, dizziness, muscle fatigue, blurred vision, and severe exhaustion. Prolonged overuse will make him pass out.
