Happy Birthday, Beatrix! ☀️ 🌈 There’s a lot to say about Bea but on her special day I’d like to think back to where it all started. This is the very first page draft I sketched out viciously from behind the table while helping out @june--box vend at event. It’s also the first time I ever talked about Grim City and what I meant to me in public when I met @/sickdaymagazine (insta) for the first time and we talked shit about the current art scene in the digital age and how important physical media is, more importantly how much community means when it comes down to it. I pitched Grim back then as more of a “wouldn’t it be cool,” but now we’re really doing it. 1 year later, we have 100+ pages and Beatrix in some weird way has made me so many new friends and memories in my community by having something I feel passionate about to share and a genuine curiosity about what makes others’ passionate, that similar strike of lightning.

Of Slime and Stardust - Prologue

I’m so happy to begin sharing this project with all of you. This comic has been something I’ve been trying to realize for many years now. I finally feel like I’m actually well equipped in my art, writing, and timing to be able to handle a webcomic series. This comic will be great for me to exercise my graphic novel abilities and then some. I hope I can keep up with it for as long as possible. No matter what happens, I’m already so proud of what I’ve made. I can’t wait for you all to meet Corette, Hyu, Radic, and the rest of the OSAS cast!

Thank you for an amazing launch! We've been overwhelmed by the positive response Grim City has received and want to thank everyone who has supported us on social media and joined us here on Tapas, and even those who may have just stumbled upon us and joined aboard! Our team reads every comment, through shared smiles and laughter it motivates us to continue working on this passion project into reality. Because of you sharing your time with us, it IS reality now.

As a team, we work on this comic remotely purely as a passion between friends who work adult jobs and more often than not feel overwhelmed by the news and pressures of real life. It often feels useless or frivolous to make art but I really think that’s when we need it the most. Fiction can help our reality.
