Your art is wonderful! How about an elk or wolverine as a suggestion?
Thank you so much! Both suggestions are wonderful, wolverine is one of my favourite animals!

Just wrapped up this mural for Waypoint | PLEA Community Services.
Some of the youth had the opportunity to practice their painting skills and assist me while I worked. Thank you for having me!
The salmon come through this area so including them in the mural was important along with a suggested eagle. I decided to have the eagle catching a salmon. The eagle will be fed and the carcass to be dropped to not only feed other animals but also the earth through the soil that will feed our forests. The salmon are such a vital and precious life source.
This was a pretty large undertaking! They wanted to find a way to pretty up the SeaCan with a mural and corrugated surfaces are a nightmare. So we opted to dry out 5 pieces of pressure-treated plywood earlier this year and install those on the side of the bin as a canvas. It wouldn't have been possible without the technical and installation help of our contractor friend Frank, my father-in-law Darrell, and my husband Joshua.

The Journey Home - Nass Valley
Film photograph of me in our village by my sister Chanessa Perry with an overlay of my eagle design.
I had the opportunity to go on the Journey Home, to our ancestral lands in the Nass with my mother and sisters!
Put together by Nisga'a Ts'amiks Vancouver Society and the Nisga'a Lisims Government - Nisga'a Nation. Everyone in each village made it so special, we felt so loved and welcomed. T'ooyaįøµsiyĢ nĢiin to everyone involved! I'm longing to be back, soon.

there is something so special that no other social platform has that Tumblr has.
to me, it's like reading "between the lines". I LOVE reading everyone's "hashtags" that are actually thoughts, or subtext? Every time I pop in I wish Tumblr was the MAIN platform for sharing cause it really is the best <3
New mural at Terry Fox Elementary in Abbotsford.
I attended Terry Fox in grades 4 and 5 and it is very cool to return and leave a mark in their courtyard. My nephew goes to Kindergarten here, and he was very excited to see Auntie painting a mural at his school, which made the project super special!
This wall was in direct sun from 10am - 5:30pm, it was HOT (either that or it was raining and I couldn't paint lol) A few hours over a couple of evenings for priming and projecting my design, followed by 4 days of painting.

This was a fun and informative collaboration with the Invasive Species Council of British ColumbiaĀ @iscbc. My design features a child removing invasive plants allowing native species to thrive. It will be used as a part of ISCBC's education program in the form of stickers and signs posted in areas of stewardship work.
You can read more about it here: https://bcinvasives.ca/news/knowledge-sharing-and-storytelling-through-stickers/
Last week I was hosted by RDM Lawyers in theĀ @downtownabbotsfordĀ Art and Wine Walk.
Thank you to RDM for hosting and to everyone who came by and left kind comments or purchased some of my work, it was a lovely evening.
Art vs Artist 2022. A selection of my work/opportunities for my existing work from this past year. Iām so proud of what I was able to accomplish, it was definitely the year of public art and my most successful year as a small business owner/artist. A lot of murals and art installations around the Fraser Valley as well as being flown to the unveiling of the mural I designed for New Orleans. I had my first solo exhibition and painted my largest work to date. I created a lot of designs for Indigenous-focused campaigns this year, partnering with many businesses. It is incredible to have the opportunity to use my artwork to make a difference. I feel very blessed to be able to make a living being creative and for all the opportunities that Iāve had. I am also thankful for the holidays as Iām currently on the butt end of art fatigue/burnout and Iāve pulled back a little bit from social media to keep my mental health in check. In transparency, it isnāt always sunshine and roses and I think itās important to share that. Iām very excited about what the new year will bring. New murals and projects are being planned and Iām currently working on a personal piece that Iām very excited to share, it is a goal of mine to create more personal art in the coming year. In 2023 I will be relaunching my online shop so keep your eye out for that. I am so thankful to everyone who supports my work, from the companies Iāve been blessed to work with to the individuals who commission me or purchase my prints to those that like and share my work with others. It means the world. Happy New Year to yaāll, see you next year!

Wow a bear paw! Since you used it no one else can :) very much a coincidence considering they look nothing alike ā¤ļøš¾
Another series of paintings from this year (sorta).
I poured the colourful latex paint on these 12" x 12" canvases back in 2019 for a university project. This year I decided to add some of my Indigenous art on them to create one of a kind pieces featuring Raven, Frog and Otter. All are sold.
I'll Have a Sazerac with That, Acrylic on Panel, 24" x 36", 2023
This piece was inspired by my experience in New Orleans in the spring of 2022. I had the most incredible opportunity to design a mural for a levee in the French Quarter, which was then executed by Louisiana artist JoLean Barkley. The mural project was put together by the Consulate General of Canada, the Office of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, and the Arts Council of New Orleans. I was flown out to the Big Easy last year by Canadian Consulate for the unveiling of the mural. I saw gators in the swamp! In fact, it was the same bayou that inspired the artwork for Princess and the Frog which is one of my favourite Disney films. The alligatorās reflection is of Indigenous design, a call to the mural itself, all surrounded in the flora of a Louisiana swamp and framed in an oyster shell. I will never forget my first experience eating oysters (I haven't had a good once since) with my mother, Noella De Maina ā Consul, Foreign Policy and Public Affairs and Consul General of Canada, Dr. Rachel McCormick who also was the one who suggested I paint something inspired by my experience and told me to try a Sazerac with that.

Some 4" x 4" paintings. The two on the left were a part of The Big Tiny exhibition at theĀ @karitonartgalleryĀ and the two on the right I brought with me to theĀ @newwestcraftĀ Indigenous Market. All are sold! But I still have a few of these tiny canvases lying around for future use!
I'm a little behind in posting this, but in June I finished up a second mural at John MacLure Community School.
I decided to illustrate he salmon life cycle in almost a story book or colouring page theme. The mural is located in a large "nook" in the hallway at the main entrance featuring two spawning sockeye. Trailing behind behind the mural is additional flowing imagery of salmon eggs, fry, and alevin. It was a challenge taking a full photo of the space due to limitations of the hallway space and lighting. You can also see the Thunderbird mural I created last year out the window.
