after watching Iron Lung and letting the monster have a sleepover in my brain against my will, i decided to do linoprints of her cousin

Rain, fog, snow - a gray day, 2/18/2026

It wasn't too sloppy out there, just spitting stuff on and off all through the gray day, the snow came down in fat wet flakes and melted on contact so not a trace of accumulation on top of the crumbly grit of leftover snow pack. I guess it's not warm enough for chipmunks to venture out of their nests to stock up their larders, but maybe they will today, it's going to be cloudy and might get to 40 degrees.

Elizabeth is still foot sore, but her spirits are mostly good, she gets down to roll and snooze, but she gets right back up without help...there's nothing wrong with her appetite. We enjoy each other's company.

I finished carving a linocut of one of the horses for the They Shall Be Protected project and made a test print of this one as the Fire Horse:

This was a really fun project to work on! I've never used this medium before, so I was nervous about making a mistake, but it ended up coming out great! And the carving of the linoleum was really meditative. Actual block below.
