Selkie yawned as she made her way to her sleeping quarters after a full day of play. As she fantasized about how much fun she could have the next day when she discovered someone else in her room.
âMom?â
Selkieâs mother greeted her with a sickly-sweet smile, clearly holding something behind her back. âHello, Selkie. I know you want to go to bed, but thereâs something you need to take care of first.â
Selkie gulped. This conversation felt hauntingly familiar. âWhatâs that...?â
Her mother revealed that she was holding soap in her right hand. âItâs bath time!â
âNOOOO!â Selkie whined. âI hate your bathes, Mom! You never let me splash or float in the water and you always make me use soap!â
âNo whining, Selkie! You smell like cow manure! Now come with me--â
Selkie was already making a mad dash for the exit, screaming like a banshee all the while.
âItâs not my fault I like to play in cow manureeeee!â
