Do you ever have this feeling of ‘I’m going to do this but I know for sure I’m going to regret it later’? Because that’s how I feel about this activity we’re organizing in class. If I end up going crazy by next Saturday, please feel free to drag me out of my apartment and have a drink with me before I’m buried in post-its with original ideas for a play, thank you.

Sometimes you believe you’re certain of what your mark is and sometimes when you open the letter that your grandfather had forwarded to you, you find out you’re a Switch. Talk about a major yikes moment.

Well damn, girl. If you need any help with figuring out the logistics of being a Switch I’d be glad to help.

Adulthood is whispering to your fellow classmate how you’re supposed to learn the English from a deaf woman.  Because, you know, apparently I can’t read or write. Or.. well, no, I can’t hear- but still. I do have ways to have hearing a bit more accessible to me, and you bet your little butt that I heard that.

Like, don’t you just love when you can tell someone’s upset that they’re not doing well in your class? It’s not because I’m mad at them, it’s because their writing is severely poor.

The kids at the school lack respect sometimes. Just ignore ‘em, Professor G. You’re a badass and they can suck it.

I’ve had coworkers telling me this is a chill place to spend my free time on, but is it? I just had to see it for myself, so here I am. Let’s see if that’s true or if I’ll end up drinking a whole bottle of vodka if this goes bad.

KITTY: Is that what you'll be passionate about though?

EMMETT: It gives me a good start in life. It won't be a job I hate and at the very least it will give me good business sense so that when the time is right I can branch out on my own to do whatever I am passionate about.

KITTY: Oh? What major is that?

KITTY: Thank you, Emmett. I really wish you the best of luck with school. I will be checking in to make sure you are holding your end of the bargain in that area.

KITTY: Though you seem like a smart man, so I'm sure you will.

EMMETT: I would expect nothing less.

KITTY: I trust that you will take care of my sister for the rest of her life and give her everything she deserves.

KITTY: I trust that you will not waste her time and get her hopes up for a claim to just watch it crumble beneath her.

KITTY: And I trust that you will not do anything that she is not comfortable with.

KITTY: I am trusting you with the most important person to me and if I find out you betrayed my trust, I will make your life a living Hell. I do not take my sister and her well being lightly, in fact it is something I will do to ensure at all costs.

KITTY: And I have nothing against Switches, obviously I would be hypocritical if I did. However, with how my sister is, I know that she needs someone who can solely focus on her.

KITTY: Let me know when your application is all sent in and I'll ensure the money right away. I'll give them a letter of recommendation and you should be set to go.

EMMETT: I know we did not get off on a good foot upon our first meeting, but I assure you that I have no intent to betray your trust.

EMMETT: Cordelia is an extraordinary woman and I will have her for as long as she wants me. And I have no intent on dragging her along. A Claim is an inevitability with courting.

EMMETT: I intend for my focus to be solely on your sister.

EMMETT: I will message you once my application is in.

KITTY: You coming to help me that night with Honeybee was a shining light I suppose, on you. That you could be somewhat tolerable.

KITTY: I will admit that you being a Dominant has helped your cause because my sister could never be with a Switch.

KITTY: And I won't let you have a mediocre life if you plan on courting my sister in the future so you will be receiving the best education possible and I expect you to get all A's.

EMMETT: Anything to help Honeybee or Cordelia. They are both wonderful submissives.

EMMETT: Yes, I had a feeling that was part of your reasoning beforehand.

EMMETT: I'm well aware. I've already asked Honeybee what Cordelia needs in a Dominant and she was very clear that she needed someone who could provide a more lavish life than that of a janitor.

KITTY: Please tell me you know how to read so my money won't be going to waste.

EMMETT: I know how to read!

KITTY: I will be paying for your education at HU so you won't have to worry about taking out loans or anything.

KITTY: If you plan to court my sister, I expect you to have the best education so you can find a far better job for yourself at some point in the future that doesn't involve you cleaning up after people. I do not want my sister in a claim with a janitor.

EMMETT: ...

KITTY: Well that must be a huge relief for you then, yes?

EMMETT: Yes, it is. On multiple fronts.

EMMETT: I want you to know that I am filling out an application for the fall semester of HU this evening. I'm going to continue to do Janitor work until I can find something better suited, but it is a steady paycheck that will allow me to continue affording my apartment and chances to pamper your sister.

KITTY: Hi there, Emmett. In light of recent events?

EMMETT: Yes. The designation retesting.

EMMETT: Apparently 11 year old me was kind of a jerk with the personality component and my blood test was borderline so they placed me as a Switch.
