Speaking with Director Fury was always a rather frightening task, and AhRa liked to avoid it at all costs. News and jobs from SHIELD were usually brought to her by various agents, none of whom AhRa really knew by name. There had only been a few times that AhRa had been on the Helicarrier, or any other SHIELD property, and during each of those times, she was being prepped for a rather dangerous mission.
This time was strange, though. Despite his overall intimidating presence, the Director had been almost jovial with AhRa. He was ājust checking up on her, personallyā. She didnāt believe a word of it, and when she left the conference room, AhRa had planned to tail the director, figure out what he really wanted.Ā
When she exited the room, though, AhRa found that the hall was not empty as it had been before. A lone figure stood, her brightly coloured hair making her rather distinct. She wasnāt dressed in an agentās uniform, either.
Shooting a glance over her shoulder to ensure that the Director wasnāt creeping on her, AhRa approached the familiar figure, and proceeded to poke her in the shoulder. āHiya!ā
Lei proceeded to jump a mile high, it seemed, when she was poked after being in her worry zone for so long. She spun around and saw that it was AhRa and nobody that would yell in her face about being on the ship unexpectedly. She smiled and opened her arms out for a hug. AhRa was one of the few agents that she could call a friend. She seemed so nice and friendly towards Lei, even though she knew that Lei was a mutant.Ā
āāRa! Where have you been all my life?āĀ
Lei wasnāt expecting to see her on the Helicarrier but it made a nice change to see her and not some of the scowling others that seemed to haunt this thing.Ā
AhRa had to stifle her laughter with both hands at Lei's reaction. For a girl whose abilities makes her so good at sneaking up on others, she did not take being snuck upon very well. Still giggling--though more quietly, now--AhRa pulled Lei into a hug.
"I've been stuck in a pharmaceutical lab taking shifts for lazy coworkers, if that's what you meant," she answered, still grinning. It was always a pleasant surprise to see a friendly and familiar face like Lei's on the Helicarrier. Being in the vicinity of most SHIELD agents always made AhRa a bit irate--and nervous. None of them seemed intent on being friends with AhRa--or at least anything past civil.
She regarded the redhead with a curious smile. "Did the Director call you in for a mission?"
