Hey guys, hope you’re all having a Brighter Day. Today I wanna talk about something that I’ve noticed and has been weighing heavily on my heart since last week, and that’s public opinion, and how to live your life while listening to the opinions of others in a healthy manor. Let’s be real, people are always are going to have an opinion on what you say, do, ect. But what I find that people often forget is that, you are not them and they are not you. Each generation should strive to be better than the last, and with that being said should develop a sense of purpose to not repeat the same history before us. Earlier this week I was speaking to one of my cousins, and she stated how she was thinking about joining the military. And the main thing I pointed out to her was that if she was going to join, she needs to join because she wants to. Uncertainty is the killer of all life decisions, and until you find a definite reason to want to do something, you are never going to do it. Do not do something because your friends or family think it’s a good idea, do it because you are sure it’s something you want and trust yourself to make it happen. And if they think you can’t do it, prove them wrong. No one has to live the same life past lived. Life use to be go to school, get the career, marry the girl, buy the house, have some kids, and live happily ever after. However, that has simply become outdated and an insufficient way of life. Now that times have changed drastically since our parents were kids, so has the manual to making a good living for one’s self. Listen to what your mentors have to say, but don’t be afraid to tell them no, this is not something that I want to do although you want to see me do it. Everyone wants to do something different, and to be perfectly honest, there are a thousand more ways to get to where you want to be versus the straight and narrow options they had when they were our age. So live your life, don’t be afraid to try as many different methods as it takes to reach your goals. Take what you can from your peers, and make it work for you, not you work for them.
