She could feel the rage and tension coming off him. It made her tense up, every muscle tight. “That’s their goddamn problem. Not mine. Not yours,” she said forcefully. “What about the wives and husbands and goddamn kids dying when heroes blow up a street? When buildings fall ont somebody’s mother?” she snapped, thinking of Audrey Eastman. “Everyone’s got someone to be goddamn concerned about. Whoever signed is just gonna have to watch out for their own, unless you wanna track down every goddamn supervillain and take them out one at a time,” she muttered. She pulled from her flask, but it didn’t help. Didn’t soothe the irritation in her chest. “Jesus, Castle, you’re goddamn paranoid. Anyone ever mention that?” 

“Yeah, you think they’d be better off if everybody sat back, let aliens take over? Sure the aliens’d be real nice to them.” He didn’t necessarily approve of the heroism, not the way people went about it. They were all too afraid to make sure the problem stayed taken care of, but at least they did something. Temporary as their fixes might be, they were fixes all the same. “Maybe I will. Maybe I track down every last one of those assholes and put ‘em down for good.” He knew it wasn’t realistic, but fuck, it was a nice thought. “Yeah. Might’ve come up a time or two. I’m also right, and you know it.”

“Waiting sucks, but I don’t think there’s anything else to do. Unless you have a time machine.”

“Time machine. Wouldn’t that be something.” Didn’t sound as far fetched now as it once had.

          “You’re stating a FACT we all already know.” Emma states SIMPLY. There was no denying that EMMA was truly on edge, it was the EDGE of something bad to come. However, she couldn’t ADMIT it. Not yet. Though, this man did seem to GET IT. So, she merely nods her head. “Have you got ANYTHING better to talk about, because this TOPIC has been drilled dry.”

“My apologies,” Frank replied dryly, rolling his eyes. This was why he spent such little time around people; he had no patience for them. This woman wasn’t so bad, though. A little harsh, but Frank guessed he could understand that. “What, you wanna talk about the weather?”
