Hi again! It's been a long while since I sent in an ask. (I feel tumblr may have swallowed them)
Anyways, I think you have said a while ago that a good bunch of what you had for the Son's of Berk au takes place during RTTE??
I'm most curious on how things with the Grimborn brothers are in this au and how things turn out??
oh my goodness hi! this is such a good ask. thank you so much.
for the Grimborn brothers i think much of it would stay the same as it is to cannon. Viggo would still be running his dragon hunting empire and Ryker would be his second in command. I think what would really be different from cannon in this au is that there would be a much more prominent rivalry between not only Viggo and Hiccup (essentially Viggo being Hiccup’s dark reflection) but also between Dagur and Ryker. They are very similar in a way. Hiccup is the brains and leader of the dragon riders. Not Dagur. Viggo is the brains and the leader of the dragon hunters. Not Ryker. Both Dagur and Ryker are the muscle of their respective group. The second in command.
Dagur and Ryker would have a much more prominent rivalry. Which would lead the war between the dragon riders and the dragon hunters a bit more messy. Dagur and Ryker are both men of battle. Dagur is very unpredictable and has a habit of really grating on Ryker’s nerves, which in turn makes him far more willing to go off book to prove a point or just to one-up Dagur. Again, this makes many of battles far more messy and occasionally less strategic. At least in what would be considered the “early seasons of rtte”. Up until Viggo becomes the big bad.
side note, in the au Heather will take a big role in rtte. she will take the place of where Dagur (in cannon) should have been. she’d also probably have a closer relationship with Johan as well. Instead of stealing his ship after escaping prison, she probably bartered with him and formed a sort of alliance with him since they both had similar motivations (berk’s destruction).
sorry for the late reply, hope that answers your ask :D
