Oh, no. Don’t you think it would be odd? After nearly two years? 

Merlin! That sounds so pathetic I’m not sure whether to tell you to buck up or offer my own company. [She shook her head as she looks at her.] Who cares what they think? If you like them and they’re worth your time outside the studio then just show up. If you act like it’s natural they will, too.

No, no, but I’m not surprised. He tends to pick and choose his own occasions. Most of them involve the company of Vincent or Vanity. 

Emma’s here tonight. [She shrugged with a smile.] All the more reason for you to have a good night out on your own.

I suppose that would be offensive except that I know if you were to hand me such a potion it would be the best there is. [she wrinkles her nose and rests a hand lightly on her belly] That does not sound pleasant. Has she been having difficulties with him?

That much is a given. Rest assured, I think you’re safe without any recommendations for now. [She made a face as she nodded.] He has quite the set of lungs on him. He’s a jolly little thing if you hold him all the time. He sleeps like an angel while he’s in your arms, but Catherine says the instant you try and lay him down he’s an utter basket case. Hopefully, he’ll outgrow it soon.  

[ Thankful that it’s Francesca and not anyone prone to lecturing, Eva manages a welcoming smile. ] Well, it has been an eventful New Year so far. I’d love to have a night out, though. The Ministry’s been working me to exhaustion lately.

Thus far I’d like to take the new year’s offerings and toss it back at it. [She smiled, nodding.] Too much work and not enough play makes Eva a dull girl. Tonight we should play. 

Good enough. The weather made for a welcome change. [She nodded, not sure how cooping yourself could ever feel enjoyable.] What does the potion entail?

It is only a hair potion. The discontinued one from Italy that I loved. I’ve just about perfected it, I believe. Which is just as well, because it’s likely time for something new. 

I do not care what you meant. The point still stands: I do not have wrinkles.

Don’t be absurd, Narcissa. If I thought you were getting wrinkles I’d at least be kind enough to pass along a skin potion along with the insult. Though. if your child sleeps as little as Gregory perhaps some preventative maintenance isn’t a bad idea.

[She approaches what she thought was a familiar person without a trace of hesitation and smiles when she realizes it was Evangeline.] It is you. I feel like I haven’t seen you out in ages. 

Believe me, it isn’t easy. You have to be pretty driven and eventually there will be a yes, well more of a “sure” or a “guess it can’t hurt”, in all the nos. You have to admire the determination of people creating a new product like this. [He nodded] I’d go as far as to say it’s harder to stop that than start something new.

But what if a product was far superior to anything available in the current market. How would someone manage to get the word out without all that hard work and drive? Certainly there is a method to get it into the hands of those who matter if it truly is better.

I think such  a philosophy prevents new brands from breaking into the market while making room for those who have a reputation in one area to create a lesser product and riding on the laurels of others and expectations to charge more. I can’t say I have the perfect solution, but I do try and do my research. I like knowing my options well.

[She lifted the bottle he’d suggested off the shelf fingering it.] How does a new product make its way onto a shelf anyway? I hardly notice them, but it doesn’t happen that often. You’re right though about others providing an inferior product, because people continue to purchase it. 

[her mood turns a little sadder] Clara is out of the country.

Right. Well, certainly Clara isn’t your only friend from six years at Hogwarts?

Yet you consider price to be one? Interesting standards, but what is life without a little risk? Especially when it comes to something relatively trivial in the grand scheme of things.

Of course. Quality and price have a longstanding relationship with one another. You get what you pay for in the majority of cases. Do you not believe that to be so?
